Help Screen blanking out during calls

phpmaven

Lurker
Hi All,

Let me start this out by letting you know that I do not have a case on my phone. I see that some have had problems with their proximity sensor being blocked by part of the case.

What happes is this, I answer a call and put it on speaker, and after a few seconds the screen dims and then a few seconds later it goes completely dark. I can bring it back by hitting the lock button (it isn't locking the screen by the way, since it just brings the call screen back.)

I'm a newbie to android phones, so perhaps there's a setting somewhere I'm not aware of. I want the screen to stay on during a call, unless I have the phone to my ear.

Thanks,

Mark

There's an app called screebl that does the job. Set the "in call behavior" settings to "screen locked on" and it will keep the screen on unless you put the phone to your face.

This is what its suppose to do it makes sense, unless your using it otherwise your wasting battery strength. As long as you touching the screen it stays awake otherwise you'll probably complain about your battery life suffering! Why would you want it on if your just talking on it?

What if you want to add a call, mute the phone, take it on-off speaker, take it on/off bluetooth, hang up the call etc...

When you are using the phone against your ear, the screen comes back when you take it away from your face so you can do those things. If you have the phone on your desk and are using the speaker phone as I often do, it's annoying to have to hit the lock button to bring up the screen. If I'm going to be on the call for an extended period, then I will just hit the lock button to turn off the display.

If understand you correctly you just want to extend it a bit longer. Which I'm still not sure why the stock seconds aren't long enough to add call, mute call ect. But if you want to see that gorgeous samAmoLed+ screen a little longer I kno someone who constantly text during calls & have trouble because theres no notification beep while "in call" for texts, try this;

Hope this works for you! Enjoy your android...
