It's funny, if Rezound is typed into VZW site search, it reports no results found. If Vigor is typed in, it still takes you to HTC phone section as someone already reported.

I'm doubly curious about the whole "Rezound" name/Global tag thing...I mean, where is there a model number in that leak? Quite possible the Rezound could be a whole different monster entirely. Or are they just doing 2+2 from previous leak that had ADR6425 next to Rezound?

Ally? Yuck. I do feel for the man. Bring on the wheteverthisphoneisgoingtobecalled! Someone needs saving from an Ally!

I got him the Ally because it was his first smartphone and it had a regular keyboard. a droid would have been too technical for him I think. he is actually waiting for an Iphone that is 4g. I have tried to tell him he doesn't need a 4g phone to be faster than the ally and he should just get the Iphone4. he can get a phone in February, so I may get him an iphone4s depending on what the rumors are of an iphone5. He can use my Incredible till then. Cost is also an issue for him 'cuz he's cheap! LOL He's not an apple "fanboy" but likes the interface of his ipod 'cuz he's used to it. Though the lack of flash is also a problem for him, but he manages with the ipod. The ally sucks. if he doesn't delete his texts periodically, he runs out of memory and can't get no more! LOL

He keeps asking me when my new phone is coming out...I have to tell him I don't know...........

Fair enough. I'm sure he'll be much happier with your Dinc vs. the Ally.

New Verizon MAP list leaked on Droid Life.

Link:

New Verizon MAP Released

HTC Rezound for $299 from November 10, 2011. The article says that it's not necessarily the launch date, but as far as I can remember, the first date listed on the MAP is usually the first day it's available for sale. Glad it's officially on the list; unhappy it's called Rezound; and disappointed we have to wait until November 10 to get one!

That said, I'll still be first in line to pick one up...damn you Verizon...you beat me every time and yet I can't help coming back for more...

***EDIT*** Notice that both the Bionic and Rhyme have a first-listed date that is the same as each of their respective launch dates...

Another month. Damn!

My kid is going to be driving me crazy. I guess it will be a good lesson in patience.

Thanks for the info though. You're my hero!

Hey tdub88- good to see you.

I hope your kid learns that lesson better than I did, especially when it comes to a phone like this.:D

Wait, does that mean that the Nexus and the Rezound are going to launch on the same day? That seems odd (and not very smart) to me.

It looks that way. I agree that it's somewhat odd. But, if you look at the online comments regarding each of these phones it looks to me that the target customer for each is slightly different than the other with only some overlap. So, it may not be totally crazy.

NICE!!

noticed that also... doesn't seem right... just dont see them releasing them on the same day. hate to say it but if one has to come first that will most likely be the prime...

Just I'm not mistaken, the 10th of November hasn't been set as the official date or anything, right? This was a date that was listed on Verizon's MAP, correct? Has there ever been a case of a phone coming out prior to the MAP thing?

yes, in no way is this official...

Very true; nothing is official until announced. However, the history of the first day of the MAP period being the launch date for a given phone on VZW points to 11/10 being the launch date. I can remember others, but here are links to leaked MAP lists for the Bionic and Rhyme. Both of those phones launched on the first date of the listed MAP period:

New Verizon Leaked MAP Outs HTC Rhyme – Coming Sept 29th

I hope we get the Rezound sooner and that if we really have to wait, that we get it on the 10th and not later. If this leak is legit though, history says it will launch on the 10th IMO.

Can anyone recall a phone not launching on the first day of its MAP period (especially our Verizon employees)?

I have some thoughts on this, and I tend to disagree with some of you.....and think that BOTH phones WILL launch on the same day.

I'm gonna say that the MAP list is accurate for both phones based on the other phones listed, and their respectful launch dates and MAP dates. Earlier in the week or last week, I read one article/rumor speculation that was saying that Verizon was a little upset because they were possibly being left out of all the marketing on the Nexus. There was also another article that rumored the Nexus could possibly launch exclusively at Best Buy. (Didn't this happen with the Nexus S? At launch and early release of the phone, it had to be bought at BB and you couldn't get it in a Sprint store right away?) I'm also trying to think back to the Nexus One. Could you buy the Nexus One during the early release at T-Mobile or was it exclusively purchased from Google? I can't quite remember. Anyway, it's possible that the VW Galaxy Nexus may be exclusively launched via Best Buy or Google only. I can highly see this happening, if we don't see Verizon doing any advertising. (I guess we'll know more next week.) Plus, we all know how VW loves bloatware! Nothing needs to said about that! So, if this were to turn out all true, then I completely understand why Verizon would want to launch the Rezound side-by-side with the Nexus. The Nexus wouldn't be generating any foot traffic into stores; they can't sell accessories to go with the Nexus; can't upsell customers on their packages; and don't collect what little money they collect on the subsidized phones.

To me, this all makes perfect sense, from Verizon's point-of-view. Thoughts?
