Possible to listen to you tube while doing something else?

Hi I'm new to this forum and smartphone's in general. (Just got my Samsung Galaxy s2 week ago)
I have a few questions and i was wondering if anyone knows the answer:

1. Is there an app that can make you play youtube while you do something else on your phone? (like play a game for instance)
2. I'm deaf on my right ear so I was wondering are there any apps that can play music in mono so i don't have to convert every mp3 file on my PC

On a multitasking multicore phone one would expect to be able to do that, right?
But reality is inexplicably different.

Yea :/ think they really want you to watch the video...
If there's no app I hope the new Android 4.0 brings up that possibility. ^^
