Help Installing gingerbread problem

I was about to flash my galaxy mini SGH-T499

Using S5570XXKPI_SERKPI_XXKPI and S5570_Odin_Multi_Downloader_v4.38

Refering to this tutorial.

But when i try to "Reboot the Samsung Galaxy Mini into Download mode by pressing ( Volume Down + OK + Power )" , there is no OK button on my phone and there is no mention of a "download mode" in the manual in my phone box.

Am i missing something?

Here you go.... Please read this article it will help you successfully upgrade to gingerbread 2.3.4 as well as answer most of your querries:

Handy Informations: Upgrade Samsung Galaxy Pop/Mini GTS5570 to Gingerbread 2.3.4

Also, to go to download mode you need to press VOlume Down + Home (middle one) + Power Button at the same time. Then you will see screen with a logo and Downloading written on it and that's the download mode... :)

need help here.. This is what apens after i follow the procedure download files, download mode on the phone, plug usb, phone is detected by odin, i press start and then:

"usb is disconnected" ?!
Whats wrong?

edit: usb debugging was activated

Make sure your device is not disconnected during hte process.... Also, do you have USB drivers/ Kies installed.... It is better you remove your sd-card, sim card as well as close Kies and try again.... :)

If it fails try with another firmware....:)

This says that it was not possible to update the SGH-T499V yet on october 8th..

Someone have any updated info's about this?

Okk It looks like the roms form samfirmware are not compatible with your device... And now I think your phone is carrier/sim locked and the above firmwares are for unlocked version. I think you ought to wait till Samsung releases an update for your device:)... Sorry, I couldn't help!!:(

I read this and as it says, you can wait and watch Galaxy Mini, as he said he will post a solution for upgrading your device... :)

It is not yet possible to update the Galaxy Mini Videotron. (SGH-T499V)

However, the unit's European cousin Galaxy Mini, model S5570 has received an update to Android 2.3.4 I believe.

This update does not work on our SGH-T499V, but I watch this situation closely.

Once a formal process or not to take even more performance of the device is available, I will publish here the steps to accomplish, especially if the update is not over KIES.

For users of the Galaxy Europeen, version 2.3.4 seems faster and improves the life of the battery.

I keep my fingers crossed.

the phone u have is not a galaxy mini 5570 its a galaxy mini Videotron SGH-T499V so u need to find firmware for ur fone not the 5570 and i have no idea where to get that coz ive never seen one until now where the hell did u get it anyways ???? over net from abroad or from uk ??????
 
oh and download mode for ur fone is....vol down/ power on/home button at same time turn fone on like this and u will see download mode hope i helped.

Here in canada, SGH-T499V are for sale by videotron.
