Nice Droid Razr Video review...

Rush...14 day return policy for VZW! And I think $35 to restock ....your a phone junkie like me, so you probably got a hook with someone to get that waived.

Throw em both on the cc and get busy for 2 weeks....only down fall is the micro SIM on the Razr will make easy switches between phones a pain.

i don't think the 14 days is for those who pay full retail.

Starting at 4:10 in the video he starts saying how powerful it is and how super smooth and he's seen no lag...

Yet as he's scrolling between screens while saying these things, you can see it glitching/lagging/chopping a few times. Or is it doing it because he's not smoothly swiping his finger?

I fear any chopping and lagging in demos when it's not under heavy load because it may foreshadow bigger lags and freezes to come in real uses, so I look very closely for it.

Maybe it has something to do with moto blur?

Sean & red,

I normally buy from VZW, so thanks for the heads-ups. I do have the Best Buy premium membership, so wonder if that also extends the return warranty for phones to 45 days? It does extend 45 days for tablets.

Edit: Nevermind, Best Buy at full retail is always about $100 higher. I will stick with the V.

More concerned anyway that I AM a Best Buy premium user, so must have bought too much stuff lately. Wife will kill me :(

I agree I am going through verizon I do not want to pay an extra hundred plus to get it from bestbuy.

So the galaxy nexus does not use a micro sim then? I was jw because if it did I thought maybe that would help with keeping the phone so thin.

I think its a reg sim! But im going on the pic I saw with the back cover off...Deff looked like a reg sim slot.

But Maybe American vzw version will have a micro?

I suspect any list of bugs on the Razr will be balanced out by an equally impressive list of bugs on the Nexus. :p

That quite possibly could be true the only difference is you wont be waiting 4 months for an update on the nexus. Look at the bionic the long list of bugs and an update isn't slated until nov and we all know how carrier updates tend to rarely meet the time frame given:rolleyes:

Redraider no offense but your like a walking talking point. We've heard that silly arguement for close to 2 years now its getting a little stale.

Updates will always take time to get out to the end user. From our perspective it takes time from the average consumer they have no clue there is an update coming except when they get the notification.

Its part of the game of owning a handset. Im not one to freakout over not getting an update 30 minutes after its announced. We live in a society with the attitude "I want it NOW" "dont make me wait!"

As long as my phone works I'll wait. Its not life or death and I have more important things going on in my life than worrying about when im getting an update.

Time will tell on this... Let's not forget that Moto will soon be a subsidiary of Google. I suspect mother Google might not tolerate the same things that Motorola previously allowed.

I gotta say...

The Razr may have a fairly short set of bugs, especially since its guts are very similar to the Bionics...And when this thing drops, that update that Bionic owners have been waiting for will be pushed out to rid it of all those bugs, including the crazy lag on the Cameras auto focus. Not cool IMO for an Update to take so long...but this is the way it is!

However, the Gnex will most likely be laced up with Bugs...it has to be expected! Its a brand new OS, on a Brand new phone. But once they do work all the kinks out, ICS will probably be extremely sweet!

No way....I said this a long time ago when the buy was announced. Google will not stand for the nonsense Moto puts up with the carriers. Updates should be fairly quick with they're Android devices...The way it is now is just a joke...

I'm gonna go out on a limb with this statement:

Whatever phone you decide to get will be 2 to 10 times better than the phone you have now! 2 is for the Bionic, SGS2, and Iphone 4s well maybe 3, and 10 for everything else!

I think google has more to worry about than moto and their updates. i think they are going to continue to put their time and effort into the nexus line and making android better. I hope they start making these companies push updates faster I just am going to go with how things are now and say that wont change until google gets rid of skins and everything is stock and they handle all updates.

well tell that to all the people with a bionic and a ton of issues. No I'm not saying I need the update right away but bug fixes should not take months to get out. For wanting the phone to be secure they sure let a lot of things slide that are big vulnerabilities. But then again nothing anyone can say matters because you have more important things to worry about. Well so do I and I want my phone to work and not be bug ridden. Sorry I expect a little more from these companies=)

Well I did say as long as the phone operates as it's supposed to. So serious bugs that hinder that experience should definitely be fixed in a timely manner. So I agree with you in that aspect.

I was specifically talking about a "perfectly" operating phone and waiting for the next OS to drop after it's been announced.

Moto & VZW are ok with update fixes for their FW, but for Android OS updates they are not too aggressive.

i don't think the 14 days is for those who pay full retail.

It also applies to full retail purchases. I know because I test drove a Bionic about 2 months ago for 4 days and took it back. The policy was 14 days, $35 restock, but I got the restock waived when I called VZ and complained about the audio crackling (which was true). Otherwise, it was a nice phone - especially relative to my T-bolt.

I will be on a longish business trip anyway, so might not be able to purchase same day (If Nov 3 or before). Will have other things to do besides hunt for a VZW corporate store and not much time to play with the new toy.

Look forward to hearing posts from folks here though :)

Oh didn't know it included full retail also. Is it still the one return allowed or can you do it as many times as you want?

I agree I am not necessarily all about having the latest os updates right away but some of the bugs with the bionic that those with bionics have to wait months or more for things like the camera issues and things like that are unacceptable. I kind of wish verizon would do like sprint did with htc and allow the manufacturer to send out bug fixes without going through the long process of verizon testing.

I'm not sure. They didn't say anything about it. I'm sure if you have a "valid" reason for return, they'd have a hard time stopping you...

BTW, nice win yesterday...:)
