Help 10% Battery Increments?

Stigy

Some say...
Does anyone know if the RAZR supports 1% battery increments or is Motorola set on having all their Android devices only support 10% battery increments?

I disliked that so much on my OG Droid so just wondering if there was any word on this or if it was ever fixed in root?

There are multiple apps that show battery percentage in 1% increments. No, they do not require root.

There is no need to replace the original. Just place an additional one.

I guess that just seems a bit superfluous, but we shall see. Still trying to decide between RAZR and SGN when they're both released.

These battery monitors at 1% increments are pretty accurate?

As accurate as battery reporting module - very accurate indeed.

They should be fairly accurate! Keep in mind that the more granular the increments the more power that will be used to monitor for changes in battery voltage... and to change the listed percentage on the screen.

Im using sense analog clock and a battery widget that I downloaded on my RAZR and neither shows my battery staytus in 1% increments. Do you know any apps. that for sure will?

Awesome, Battery Circle worked for my RAZR. Now I can see how fast my battery is draining instead of waiting for it to drop from 100 to 90 percent all of a sudden.

Thanks.
It's actually supposed to do that. It saves battery life by not keeping the batt at full charge all the time on the charger. Old school chargers used to just keep pumping juice into the battery, which actually caused it to die sooner. So even though it shows 100%, unless you take it off the charger the second it hits 100%, the battery will begin to decay. Especially if you charge overnight, it will hit 100% before you are done brushing your teeth. It then has the rest of the night to slowly decay, getting occasional charges if it falls below a certain limit. So, when you take it off the charger in the morning, the system lies and says it is at 100%, because, darnit, you charged it all night, it should be at 100%. But soon reality sets in, and the system will start reporting the real battery state, making you think "what the frack happened, I picked up my phone and lost 5%!"

THIS IS NOT A RAZR THING--it is an Android OS thing, and it keeps your fixed battery lasting longer, so it is good.

Sounds backwards to me. Why didnt they just change the charge value to tell it to stop at 100 and pick back up at 90 if it drops that low. instead they just incorporate false reporting to a common piece that is shared by multiple apps.

Well, 99% of users wouldn't notice the sudden drop. I guarantee 100% of users would freak out if their battery showed 97% after 20 hours of charging. So, the little white lie.
