Choosing Multiple Contacts

short1

Lurker
Hi, I cannot figure out how to select multiple contacts when sending a text, it's very annoying having to send the same message over and over. I've searched and haven't found anything, help me out.

i use handcent for my messaging and when i go to write a new text it gives me the option to add more than one recipient for the text

Well I checked it out, but, it wont let me download, it keeps declining. Does my phone need to be rooted or something? I've never had this problem before..

are you trying to download handcent from the market, if so, then im not sure why it wont let you download

ric

what else is it telling you? is the market allowing you to download other apps

Don't need it rooted. Sometimes apps don't download. Try 30 minutes later....usually works.

If problem persists, restart the phone and try it again.

PS. After installing Handcent, I suggest, opening it, and opening it's Preferences and turn off pop-up messages. And in Messaging (the default app) turn off notifications.....then only Handcent will handle incoming new messages.

Yea i'm trying to grab it from the market, just tried again after restarting my phone, now it doesn't even show a download option, it shows a bar across the top that says " ! this item is not available ". Other apps download fine...weird. Thanks for the tip beau420, if i ever get it I will do that.

Also just had my wife try to get it in the market on hers (same phone) and it doesn't show the english version, checked again on mine and won't show the eng. version anymore either..WEirder

Or you can download it off their website here:

Handcent sms HomePage --sms plus software for android

As long as you can open Settings and goto Applications and check the option that says Unknown Sources (as long as you don't have an AT&T phone...then the option won't be there) I think there might be a few companies that do it....but I believe most don't. Most allow you to install non Market APKs.

Then either on your phone or PC download the APK and copy it onto your phone...put it in a Download folder or anywhere. Then download a file manager like Adao File Manager or sometime like that. Then navigate to where you copied the APK and click on it once. It will open the Application Install window, Click OK. Done.

Or give it a day and see if it comes back. Maybe there is a new version coming out. Or their deal with the Market is done and they are putting up another version shortly.

They are pretty popular, so I am pretty surprised too.

Page isn't there:
