Two questions about TapFish

Yeah there were quite a few discussions going. Most recent were regarding the Halloween event and pumpkin decorations. Please visit my last tank to see my evil pumpkin...I'm quite proud of him. TapRos
 
I saw that earlier, that is awesome!!!

Also I tested out getting fish that are sold out of the store. Check out the 2 sold out fish in my 1st tank 8)
 
If you root your android phone, it is pretty easy to get all the fishbucks, coins and ex points you want. (I take no credit for this. It was found at xda and it works as I have tried it)

Files Needed (in APK Format)

Root Explorer 2.16 (can get at 4shared.com)
sqlite file 1.4X (See link above at XDA-developers.com)

I tested the sqlite 1.33 version from 4shared and it didnt work for me

Make sure the phone is rooted and install root explorer first. Then install sqlite.

Using root explorer, go to

data/data/com.bayview.tapfish/databases/tapfish.sqlite/user

and change whatever bucks/coins/xp points you want! :) and enjoy the game to the fullest!

I clicked on your father/son fish and tie fish in Tank 1. When I click buy, it just tells me sorry, it's sold out.
 
Yeah you won't be able to buy the father/son or tie fish from me. I wasn't able to buy one either. I just changed a few database fields for a couple of green snappers and turned them into the father/son and tie fish. Lots of databases to be explored!
 
I actually have lots of tie fish....and I wouldn't want to spend bucks on the father-son fish. I found the only things you can get which arent in the store (in the iOS version) are the gift items and some event items.

How about introducing yourself in the Tapfisher forum?;)

I just found this forum looking for information about the new feature of buying items and fishes from neighbor's tank. [The forum is great!]

About the new feature I have two questions:
1. Does it mean that I deprive the neighbor from his/her fish/item?
e.g. For some crazy reason I want the seahorse of the past event and get one from the neighbor, does he/she loose the fish?!?!
If it's so, isn't it a little mean?!

2. I buy at the buying price (so the neighbor loose the time he/she took to grow that fish)? Or I buy at the selling price?

Your neighbor doesn't lose the fish you buy. You are buying at the Store price and the proceeds don't go to the neighbor, but back to Gameview.

To join Tapfishers forum, go to Social Groups, and find Tapfishers. There aren't many threads there yet because we lost the original ones when it was converted to a social group to a forum. There's a thread called Please Introduce Yourself.

So...

The fish you can buy from the shop have the same price from a neighbor, and as you said makes no sense to buy from the neighbor. Solved.

New problem: except for past event fishes (but looks like they cost fish bucks) and for the chance to understand which is the combination of a specific bred-fish, I'm still wondering which is the aim of this new function?

Mistery... anyway, the important thing is that it won't cause troubles to anyone :)

You're welcome. It is nice to be able to tap someone else's fish to see what they have. Also, you might can sometimes find some decoration or fish from an event or gift that you can't directly buy from the store.
 
Hello,

I recently tried to visit another users tank but this ended up taking about 16mb of my phone memory even though I have game on SD card and I'm getting a low disk storage on my HTC desire, I've tried a restore in the game but hasn't resolved the issue, please help to get this back if possible.

I believe you have to uninstall then reinstall and restore the game in order to reduce storage size. Just restoring it doesn't do anything except restore your last saved game.
 
Okay, first of all, this thread has completely revived my interest in this game. Thank you everyone for your tips and suggestions. My android tapfish name is aicirt17, by the way, so feel free to visit my tanks.

My question: is there ANY way you can use a custom background? I don't like most of the ones offered for free OR fishbucks. I REALLY like the background that Tapfish uses as an icon for "Backgrounds" in the "Store", but it's not available :mad:. And, how did that guy get the floating people in his tank?? It's so cool!

Which guy?
I'm not sure it's this guy case but some go into the tapfish files and change the code...some give themselves an incredible number of fish buck without buying any, some personalize the background and so on...
It's not so difficult to do as I read on the forums around the web :)
 
I have not come across any custom backgrounds.

Floating people?? I have a couple of tanks full of mermen. There are also mermaids. I don't know of any floating people. Who are you referring to?
 
Lol! I love the Oval Office background and floating presidents
Somebody should make backgrounds of the House and Senate with floating members.
 
Awkatic, which database did you go to and change for the tank names? Share your findings please! :) :)
 
hello, I'm new to tapfish (well a couple of weeks now) and also new to this "forum" stuff so I have no idea what I'm doing so please advise if I'm doing something wrong on this "forum". I do have a question. I tried to add Akwatic and a couple others I see here in my tapfish neighbors but I get an error message that says "Akwatic not valid" or "Akwatic does not exsist" what am I doing wrong?
 
Obee, I know how to change the name of the tanks if that's what you're asking. You simply go to that tank and tap on the tank name at the top, for example where it ways "tank 1" just tap on it, then tap on it again in the window that opens up and it will let you change the name. It will also let you lock the tank in the same window so you don't accidently sell a fish that's in the tank.

Welcome to Tap Fish, Playn4fun! If you scroll thrugh this thread, you'll find that most member names are not the same as tap fish names. Akwatic's Tap Fish name is TreeTank. TapRos is another good one to visit, but be prepared to wait for that one to load - there's a lot of great stuff there. Mine is aicirt17 if you wanna see mine. :)

Thank you, but I meant how to change the tank names so you can name them whatever without a limit on the amount of letters. Add me and I'll add you though! ObeeWan is my player name.

I have a sgs2 (samsung galaxy s2)

I play TapFish sooooo much lol. got so frustrated at buying bucks,so i rooted my device (BIG THANKS XDA) and hacked my game.

Now i have over a million bucks,and over a million coins,and i can top them up for free anytime :)

I have loads of tanks,fish,items.

And it was so easy to do,including the Root.
