Help RAZR taking 4+ hours to charge

I'm using the OEM wall power adapter and usb cable, and even with 4G turned off, and almost no usage while charging, and everything else optimized for low power consumption, my RAZR is taking 4+ HOURS to charge from 20% to full. I tried charging with my computer, and same thing. 4+ hours. I've read that other people have been having fairly quick charges of under an hour. This can't be normal, is my battery messed up? Thanks in advance!

Battery Circle shows that the phone is receiving 4.35 volts of power.
 
The first time I tried to charge it took over 3 hours. My phone was dead by the time i got home from work that night, I put it on the charger before bed after i got home and now it charges in less than an hour every time.
 
Mine charges with the stock charger in about 2 hours. That's a ~20% bigger battery charging in about 1 hour less than I saw on the DX. In my book, for a battery that big, it is pretty fast
 
Mine is also taking 4+ hours to charge with the wall charger and I"m only getting 4 hours usage out of it using smart actions, 3G only and most of the time wifi has been active (at home). I'm about ready to return the phone - got it on thursday and can't count the number of times it's gone dead on me already - Not aceptable at all for a person that uses their phone primarily for business.

I'm seeing mixed reviews - some people are getting great battery life - I had a DROID X previous to this and the battery doesn't even begin to compare to that phone.
 
I'm having mixed results as well, but mostly it's slow charging. If I charge it from a computer, it can be pretty fast , about 2 hours. If I am charging from my monitor USB or from a laptop (Macbook Pro), it doesn't charge at all. Plug in at 20%, let sit for two hours, check phone, it's still at 20%. And, occasionally, I can plug it in anywhere and it won't show any charging at all.

I switched to the wall charger and it took just under 2 hours to go from 40% to full.My car charger seems to be the fastest, though, from 50% to full in about 40 minutes.

I haven't had it die on me yet, but it does go through the battery pretty quick.
 
Don't know why, but mine charges extremely fast with the charger that came with it. A little over an hour from 20% to full.

Looks pretty similar here with a 650mA charger (the stock charger is rated at 850mA, but I can't use that as the UK plug doesn't fit in continental outlets). That means it doesn't even take that much longer to charge than my "old" Nokia feature phone with its 1050mAh battery.

Can anyone who's phone charges quickly please confirm the voltage their phone receives during a charge? I'm using the stock charger, and from both my computer and the wall charger, it's reading around 4.3 volts. I've read this might be on the low end of the spectrum, but I'm wondering if it out of the range of 'normal' for the Razr. If the phone should be receiving more than this, it could explain why it's taking so long, and why it's not charging at all for some people during usage.
 
I put mine on my computer today for about 2 hours, and it only charged about 30% in that time frame, and I've noticed that it seems to take a while when hooked to the computer.

We charge thru the computer for regular charging at night. The computers on anyway, so just plug in there, and use that power supply, not another one plugged into the wall, so from that regard, slow charging isn't really an issue for me.

But, I have noticed that it charges really fast when I'm using the car charger. I don't know why that is, but it is definitely faster in the car...

Thats a good amount out of spec I believe, it should be 5v +/- 0.2v according to USB standards. (Just what I remember reading dont hold me accountable if im off)

Id try a stand alone USB charger or a hub and see if your getting a faster charge. I know cell phone batteries are 3.7v output but they need a greatly higher input just like rechargeable AA batteries are 1.25V (1.5 for non rechargeable) but they recharge at like 3.5V
 
Mine is extremely fast. Around 45 minutes for a full charge.

I have not used the charger that came with it though. I have so many HTC/Blackberry charge cords lying around that I use. Maybe they are faster.

Charging from a USB port on a laptop will always take longer. The USB port on a laptop tends to provide a lower charging current. I believe the USB spec states that a USB hub will charge at 100mAh per port, up to 500mAh per hub. With one port connected you should be able to get close to 500mAh but it's going to depend on the specific hardware.
 
If i have mine tethered and am using internet through it, I think it actually loses charge. If I have it plugged into the wall and have the mobile hotspot on, it takes a while.
 
I have it on a 1000mA wall charger now, and this thing charges really fast; it doesn't take much longer than my previous Nokia feature phone with its 1050mAh battery.

I've seen people mention the voltage/amperage the phone receives from the charger; how can I read those values ? I tried CurrentWidget, but apparently this is not compatible with the Razr; it shows 0mA while charging.

You can read the voltage using the Battery Circle app, which I would recommend downloading anyways, because it gives you battery readings in 1% intervals rather than 10%.

Thanks; I already had that, just forgot it displays the voltage. For the charge draw, I found something called "Elixir 2", gonna give that a try later.
