Root cant root my droid 2

After I nuked my phone into an unstable activation loop, I had some more first hand experience with this today.

Hold X while powering up.

When at the !triangle, press the down volume or both down and up at the same time. That should get you to the Android boot menu. Wipe data/factory reset. Wipe Cache. Reboot.

If bootstrap is installed properly, you will boot into that on the second reboot. There you should be able to install a backup or try to reflash.

This is based off of my experience today and a few web searches. Not exactly scientific, but hopefully functional.

yeah that would be stock recovery....the newest MIUI ICS has Android Boot Menu which allows you to access CWM from power off! its sweet! hold vol down when blue led light flashes.

From what I've read and experienced, after wiping in stock recovery will allow bootstrap to load CWM recovery after 2 boots. This might be the only chance chadzor has to break the bootloop.

all fixed now xD, im just trying to figure out what ROM i want, cause CM7 dont have market.

You need to download the gapps zip that is next to it in the roms thread to get google. Legal issues is why there not packaged. Please try a couple before settling. Each rom has its own package as to what the user wants. I use MIUI but i also like cm7GB rev(i use bootmanager). I had problems with liquid but havent tryed 3.1 yet and i didnt care for apex but then i didnt give it much time. Alot of the roms are cm7 based some are aosp. You need to find out what floats your boat so to speak. If you need more help, ill be around. Lol
