Battery widgets?

is anyone using a battery widget anymore or is that SO 2009? i've always liked "battery left" (needed a widget on my old droid because the battery icon in the notification bar wasn't nearly accurate enough), but i'm thinking that if i ditch it, i can save on battery life.

thoughts? what are you guys doing/using?

Does it have to be a widget ? I've seen "Battery Circle" recommended here which runs in the status bar, and found it to be pretty awesome, very accurate and informative (shows battery voltage/temperature and charge/off-charger time in the notification).

batteryminder from the market. just shows the percentage on the notification bar up top.

i'll take a look at everything that's recommended in this thread, but this^^^ sounds like exactly what i'm looking for. sounds lightweight and gives me the percentage quickly without any clutter.

to hell with me. lol. i decided that i don't want a widget on my homescreen. i just want a simple battery icon in the notification bar with a percentage in it. found a couple of nice ones, but decided to go with "battery widget": Battery Widget | AppBrain Android Market

been playing with it for a few mins - i really like it. easy to use, not full of flashy nonsense (i mean, it's just a battery indicator!), and has links to useful info when you tap on it.

i'm still interested in others' suggestions though, so please keep 'em coming!

i have circle battery widget on my homescreen, but i put bathing cat on one of the other screens. my grandkids get such a kick out of it and i get instant access to battery level and temperature. check it out if you have kids or grandkids. free in market.

Anyone got any other suggestions for a lightweight battery widget. This one seems to only do it in 10% increments?

10% increments is normal for the Droid Razr...

If I'm not mistaken Motorola only calculates battery remaining in 10% increments to reduce power demands from this system function on the phone.

^^^this is correct.

if you want something that gives you accuracy down to a single-digit, then you need a battery widget that will estimate it by monitoring your phone usage - "battery left" will do this.

Untrue. There are apps that are able to read 1% increments.
Batery Circle has been mentioned multiple times and ismalways visible, not only when you're looking at the specific screen

i'm no expert and i could definitely be wrong, but with all the reading i did about this, the only way for an app to provide a single-digit percentage (at least on the razr and most other motorola phones) is to estimate it because the phone only provides system battery level information to the 10%.

i'll glady edit my posts if someone can confirm this one way or the other.

I'm almost certain you are correct. The hardware only displays 10% intervals and *some* battery apps are able to deduce usage to 1%. This is not coming from the hardware itself.

Hi there, don't know if you are still interested or looking, but battery indicator seems pretty lightweight and just sits at the top left of the notification bar (Also it increments by single digits) and if you pull down the notification bar it gives you info on the temperature of the battery, the life condition of it (Good Health/Poor health) and how long it has been unplugged for. Its nice and its free. It also has a paid version but the free version seems to do what it is supposed to do. Hopefully this helps you if you are still looking for a battery indicator or anyone else that is in a search of one :)

I used to use Battery Status since it had a nice notification bar icon. But it doesn't seem to work with ICS. :( I guess I will have to try one of the ones listed above.

Badass battery monitor works pretty well. i just downloaded the free version and i like it just fine. also goes in 1% increments. circle in the status bar.

Badass Battery Monitor is nice and free. Can have a widget on your screen or a notification at the top. Both display the battery percentage and it has 1% increments. Also can see what features and apps are draining your battery, battery temperature, phone signal, and much more. Give it a shot for a day and see if it is or isn't what you're after.
