remotely play music

Hi,

is there a means to play music on my android tablet , but this should be controlled by another PC, like my windows pc.

THe music can either be on the android, or on the server and played remotely.

So either a kind of airplay client on the android, or a means to remotely start an app on the android that would play some musics?

is this possible?
this is for audio multi room

thanks you
Rod

If you want to play music in every room, I think the best solution is to store your music on a server and have it stream to multiple devices.

There are a couple of different server-clients (android and PC) that can accomplish this. The one I use is subsonic. Other ones are audiogalaxy and plex.

looks quite good.
On the other hand, do you know If I can automate the start of the music?
For instance, I have my android tablet fixed on the wall of my bedroom, and I'd like the music to start at 6AM in the morning automatically.
I'd like also the music to start when some events happen.

On the server side I have already a software that detects some events with sensors and so on across the house.
This software can run external software or send any command within an event, so I would like to control subsonic for instance from this automation software.

Do you know if I can control it from command line or whatever?

thanks
Rod
