USB PC Mode?

I think there's a way to plug the phone into my computer via USB and use the "webtop" which has a full Firefox browser but I can't get it to work.

When I plug the phone into my computer (at work) and tap "PC Mode" on the phone for the USB connection, I get a message on the computer that the device driver did not install properly.

Is this one of the features that I need an accessory for? Or should this be built into the phone by default? Any ideas?

okay, so apparently i need this adapter to do it:

no problem, BUT i need a usb cable AND an hdmi cable for that adapter. what if i want to plug the phone into my computer, not a tv? hdmi isn't gonna do it.

thoughts?...or can i just not do what i wanna do?

Webtop is an application that runs on your phone, you just connect an external display to show it on. It simply has no use for your computer. ;-)

yeah, it just took a day (and a good night's sleep and a little smack in the back of the head from you) for my stupid brain to realize that what i was trying to do didn't make any sense (i was thinking i could plug the phone into the usb on my computer and use the webtop app on the phone on the computers monitors.)
