Reverting to old version of an app?

I have an app that's stopped working since I updated to the newest version. It is possible to revert back to an older version?

go into setting and manage apps, and find the app that you update, tap it and you should see whereit say uninstall update.

There no "uninstall update" option, the only uninstall option uninstalls the app completely . If I unistall completely and then reinstall it will still be the newest version.

I'm not sure what changes in the version have caused it to stop working

One of the things that I have learned to do is to use a good file manager like ES or Astro and back up each new version of an app that I like as a new version comes out. This way if the latest version is buggy (or becomes a disabled trial version to encourage you to pay for a full version), I can uninstall it and reinstall the backup from my SD card.
