Phone recommendation? Replaces an iTouch

Hi,

Sorry I don't have a lot of time to research this. My son in college wants a new iPod Touch for Xmas. What Android phone can you suggest with the same functionality, that eventually he could use on MetroPCS?

We're on TMobile now, stuck in contracts for a while. He's already got a phone, so he would just use it to replace his worn-out iPod Touch for now.

Apps he runs: email, browse, Facebook, text, iTunes. and I guess some iTouch games but think he'd be happy to try Android games. I think he has an extensive iTunes library.

I guess an iTouch is about $200, so that price max.

Thanks for advice!

I would suggest (since its only being used for apps and music) buying a Samsung Galaxy Player. Everything you can do on an Android phone you can do on this except make calls and or text like a phone, but Im sure theres apps for wifi texting and calling

Amazon actually has their's on sale.

Galaxy Player 5 inch $209+ free shipping

Galaxy Player 4 inch $199+free shipping

If you're just replace the iPod Touch and don't really need the "phone" part you should consider the Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0. Its pretty much Samsung/Android's answer to the iPod touch.

He'll eventually need the phone part when we switch to MetroPCS.
