Lapdock 500 Pro now in stock!

Ok. I will start of by appologizing for my rush to judgement. I guess I was just having a bad day. Sorry.

But I still have to disagree with you on the quality of the screen. The Lapdock 500 Pro was built for and designed for the business customer.

EVERY single laptop I have ever been issued by any Company I have ever worked over the past 25 years had a matte screen, not the glossy ones you normally see in stores. The Lapdock 500 is no different. It has a matte screen not a glossy one and the screen on the lapdock 500 is every bit as good of quality and as sharp as any laptop I have ever been issued by my employer. The original lapdock and the lapdock 100 both have the glossy screens if that is what anyone is looking for.

Now I understand your thinking on the screen quality. I have never been issued corporate or business version laptops so I don't have the same point of reference as you. Now knowing this, I am pretty sure you are also correct in your assessment. I have to believe that if that was my only gripe, it must me a really good piece of hardware and I am very happy to have it.
 
Frankly, I would not have tried one if not $65 bucks. I just as well would use a tablet, since more portable, better display and can use mice, drives and controllers too (If has the ports).

I can see now how they are practical, since NO tethering needed. The lapdock is an extension of your phone, so 3G/4G works great. Also, the battery in the lapdock acts like a mega chunga extended battery- handy for 4G :)

Very nice having a full desktop browser and ability to use Firefox plug-ins. Now I have no issue with losing 3.5gb of flash storage for Webtop.

I am most certainly envious if you have picked up an equivalent piece of hardware for 65 bucks.

So hooking up to the atrix dock does not require vzw tethering package?? My buddy who uses the atrix dock says that when he connected the atrix, it gave him a warning about tethering or some sorta nonsense...
 
Not with the Razr. Must say that would be mega lame and no point in buying a lapdock and would defeat the value of the device. The device is an extension of the phone, so not really a seperate device.

No wonder it failed and STUPID business model for the device. At&t only strategy?

Think about it. EVERYTHING being used by the lapdock is on the PHONE. It is not much different from plugging into a monitor and using a keyboard.

A tablet like the Thrive or Transformer is a smarter buy- if tethering is needed.
 
I'm confused do you or do you not have to pay Verizon a tethering fee to use the lapdock 500 pro I say this because the corp store I go to told me you do.

It is my understanding that you don't pay when using the lapdock.
(beyond the monthly data charge)

You do NOT have to pay a tethering fee when using the lapdock 500 Pro on Verizon! I have it and been using it for several days. No tethering fee. Period. Only your monthly data charges or you can use it through wifi or with the Lapdock 500 pro, you can also use it with a direct ethernet connection. bottom line though is that there are NO tehering fees through verizon.
