So I talked to a guy at Verizon today...

Longtime lurker, first time poster (so go easy on me)

While waiting in line for another account issue, I asked the guy about the 2.1 update and he said it should be out this week, but that also Google doesn't tell them until sometimes the day before on things so he isn't sure. Take it for what it's worth.
 
Google doesn't tell them? I think he was either uniformed or blowing smoke. To my knowledge Google has nothing to do with when we would receive an OTA update. That is pretty much up to HTC and Verizon.
 
He did seem a little too open about it and "in the know" but maybe, just maybe he was sent to my Verizon store just to let me know. Hmmm.
 
yeaaa I think Google has little to do with when the OTA rools out. I mean yea, Android is theirs but HTC is the ones trying to get Sense + 2.1 to work together correctly and VZW are the ones that say when we get new tech.

Hell if the guy was right, bring it on!

I think when i get a job again I'm gonna become a shiny gold member, i like the huge avatars, and it means more bathtub for everyone!

When i bought my phone online (verizon.com) I chatted with about 6 different verizon techs trying to pick a phone and then trying to get info on the droid software update schedule. I came to the conclusion that verizon chat employees were more clueless than i was. They were not lying to me to get my to buy ( well one was )...but most of them were just misinformed.

Cliffnotes: the OTA update will arrive when it arrives and noone is going to know the day until it gets here.
 
Google makes the shells, htc makes the powder and bullets but Verizon owns the gun and is one that pulls the trigger.

forget using the search function, just look at the first page, theres 1...2...3...4, threads about it.
