Office depot in stock again

I just placed an order for the grey 32Gb prime on Office Depot after several days of the site saying they were out of stock. Expected Delivery date is January 10th, but it said january 4th as I was going through the checkout. The 10th came up after I placed the order.

Ordered mine too about an hour ago. My delivery date said the 9th. Didn't get the freebie though but my acct. was charged and I am assuming it is on it's way!!!!!
 
I ordered mine about 2 hours ago. As with dblhelx, my order showed a delivery date of Jan. 4 until I hit submit, at which point it changed to Jan 6. I chatted with a CSR to find out why the date changed, and was told that OD uses a 3rd-party vendor for tech items. Crossing my fingers that this thing actually arrives on Friday!
 
Those of you that JUST ordered from office depot...do you have the "3 Days Delivery Pending" message in your order? I do, and I just called them, the lady was 99% useless, but she did say that when she checked her system they were CURRENTLY out of stock, to wait the 3 business days as they could very well fill the order with stock from various locations and fulfill the order.

The past several days when I went to order from OD, it wouldn't let me get to the point where I enter a credit card, it was out of stock. Today when I tried I got all teh way to placing the order and receive dmy confirmation numbers. I wonder if they are just taking our money even though they don't have stock and using the 3 days to find a unit?

I read of so so many situations where people waited days and days just to have their orders ultimately cancelled.
 
I find all this interesting/frustrating. I ordered from OD on 12/29 and was told in my shopping cart 1/3 delivery, then in the confirmation email, 1/9 delivery. I called, and they gave me the crap about a 3 day hold (I agree, they don't actually have any in their warehouse, but are guessing they will in 3 days) and was told it would ship 1/3 (it didn't) and arrive 1/9 (it won't). When I log in today to try to track the order, it says it is in the warehouse and now predicts 1/10 delivery.

A few days ago, I looked online and the charge was pending on my credit card, but now the charge is gone...not posted, not pending. If it doesn't ship tomorrow, I'm going to call again and give them a lot of crap and demand to know where my Prime is!
 
I'm currently in the same situation. I placed my order on 12/30 and have a "In The Warehouse" message on my order status. It says that it will be delivered tomorrow, but after reading everyone's posts here I'm doubtful that will actually occur.

It's a bit annoying. I don't want to waste a day sitting around if it's not going to be delivered tomorrow. Their tracking system seems a bit antiquated compared to other online retailers.
 
Or earlier...when mine shipped on Jan 2nd it was scheduled for Jan 3rd but it showed up on Dec. 30th. A pleasant holiday surprise compared to the infallibly accurate shipping I'm used to with Amazon's estimates...

I want to believe that but I'm starting to get a bit worried. I ordered on the 28th, and got a ups tracking number on the 30th with an expected delivery on the 6th. Its now the 4th and the ups tracking site still says something like "a shipping label has been created...when the the item arrived at our facility...estimated delivery date etc etc." No indications that the package is actually in transit.

I don't know how far it has to go, but this is seeming like a lot of progress to be made in just two days.

We'll see...
 
OD's inventory system is on auto-pilot. They do not differentiate functionally from a pen or the Prime. Somebody apparently updated with an inbound shipment and so they are now part of their supply chain inventory listing.

Most retail systems work this way now and there is little human interaction. Mainly an invoice creation and then barcode scans, from one point to the next.
 
Does anyone know what color these are? I would really prefer the grey to the champagne.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see it says grey in the original post. I don't see that anywhere in the description on the website though. BTW now if I try to order as soon as I place it in my cart I just get it telling me that it's out of stock and I can place one for "future order" is that the same for anyone else?

These are the grey version. If you click on the Product Details tab, it shows the grey model number (TF201-B1-GR).

I'm in a chat session now with OD. After receiving two shipping dates (Jan. 4, then Jan. 6) I woke up this morning to find a new delivery date of Jan. 9. Supposedly the CSR is checking with the warehouse to make sure the tablets are actually available, or if this is some mythical unicorn we're all chasing.
 
Mine still says 3 days pending delivery with a delivery of January 10. I've never experienced a more chaotic and whacky ordering process. Lol

When I ordered it said zero back ordered. For fun I tried to order another one this morning and now it says out of stock with an option to order one in the future.

Not holding my breath, but dam I hope it ships on time.
 
Just had a chat with a CSR named Jeslin.

She said that she saw that it was in stock when I ordered it, but then was out of stock so it got the 3 Days pending message. LOL. However, according to her it will be back in stock soon and still be delivered on the original date of January 10th.

I'll take that with a grain of salt, but remain hopeful. :cool:
 
Hmm. I'd prefer the 64gb model and I have an order on amazon with an estimated ship date of around a month from now. I might order one from office depot and see who manages to charge my card first.
 
Pending, in the warehouse, etc doesn't help to predict when it will arrive from Office Depot, despite that they give an estimated arrival date. Once it is listed as "shipped", the UPS arrival date is usually correct, although it often can't be tracked until the morning it will arrive or the day before.

Just got home from work and checked the tracking number. UPS is predicting an "early" delivery of 1/9, although that was one of the dates OD previously gave me. UPS also shows it has departed the Phoenix, AZ warehouse, so the long wait begins!

FWIW, I went back and checked my credit card website, and the payment doesn't show up at all. Maybe I'll get lucky and get a free one?
 
Well my free gift just shipped but the tablet is still on backorder. I wonder if this means I'm committed to Office Depot now lol D:

Received an email this morning confirming that the tablet has shipped and will be arriving tomorrow!
 
WooHooo....just ordered mine. Thanks for the heads up! I returned the iPad2 last night. The folks at BB were in shock.....When she was processing she asked what was the reason for returning and I said, "Because it's boring!". I have nothing against the iPad. It is a very decent device. I guess I am just android to the bone and I like to tinker. Anyway, I am stoked. I don't even know what color it is but don't care. How can you tell what color it is on the order page?
