Root [Discussion - Developers _ONLY_] Building ICS from source (Isaac's github).

Hey you guys may want to hang around the Ideos X6 Xda forums... It sounds like edowar is going to be releasing a working ICS rom soon... Granted I don't know how working it is... But maybe it can help to get development for the MT off to a better start.

I actually was going to surprise you guys with that tomorrow... he agreed to pm me all of his current work :D

Oh! Lol well sorry for ruining the surprise! I've been hanging out there for a while and checking out they're development on ICS. But that's awesome! Maybe now we can get a functional port working :D

ok guys he posted a zip up here! Very Alpha AOSP ICS Rom for Huawei x6 and other FB0 devices - xda-developers it boots, but touchscreen doesnt work. :( but he has stated that it is built off of isaac's github. which is freakin amazing! :D

Have you personally got it to boot? When I tried all I got stuck on the boot logo :/... I guess I'll try again and see if I didn't fully flash or something... Also it seems that the Ideos X6 has a different touch driver than all the other variants as lots of people are saying the touch screen doesn't work on their phone...

Edit: Does it say
Random offset: 0x2b2
for anyone else when installing?

Edit: still can't even get it to boot :/ I've formatted, wiped dalvik cache, cache and even formatted system then installed the .zip but I still get stuck at the boot screen :/

i did it my self! you have to format /system and factory reset before flashing. and yes the random offset was normal for me too :p

if need be, i will take a video for you guys lol

That would be amazing..... hope someone can get it sorted out and possibly have it working. I simply want to try ics to see its gaming potential. Hope it is as good if not better then froyo since I'm stuck on feoyo based eons cause its run games better.

I did all that :( And it still gets stuck at the boot screen :/ I believe that you got it installed... I'm gonna try and download it again... maybe it got somewhat corrupted during the download or something...

ok well i think i just fixed the touchscreen in that ideos rom to work on our triumph... will let you know the results when im done :D

Yay! I hope it works! Also I hope it boots... Do you know if it has a different OC table (if it has one) than default values? That would explain why I'm getting stuck at the boot screen...

I doubt it will, at least until Isaac or another dev is significantly far into development. GPU acceleration isn't a priority.

Ok nope my fix didn't do justice... :( oh well maybe someone else can implement a fix

Successfully booted, danced a jig seeing the startup animation on the MT, but no touchscreen. Home button works, but it's the only one that responds.

W/InputManagerService( 197): Window already focused, ignoring focus gain of: com.android.internal.view.IInputMethodClient$Stub$Proxy@2bf0f020

Think this may be pointing to touchscreen issues. Also looks to be lots of errors during startup... I could be wrong though.

Full logcat of a boot here. Hopefully someone much smarter than I can gain some useful insight from it.

Also... if anyone is still trying to build from Isaac's repo...

The file extract from the MT can be found here.

Extract to /android/vendor/motorola/triumph/proprietary/

I got tired of flashing back to stock & rerunning the script. :D

At least it boots for you...

Edit: Also it looks like its connected to Virgin Mobile? Is that right I can't tell exactly because of the blur though...

yup i got it to boot... did you do a full wipe? and try redownloading the zip?

and yep it says "virgin mobile" then wierd characters. sorry about the horrible picture quality.

Tried the X6 bootimage stuffed into a fresh build from Isaac's repo. Had to delete camera folder & remove references to long back keypress app kill to get the build to complete.

Logcat here.

It bootlooped.
