Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

is there a way to have the phone autologon onto a network? I have a network at school that periodically disconnects me, re-routes me to a login webpage and i have to keep putting in the same ID and pass throughout the day.

Not that I know of, but you could try changing the wifi sleep policy in the advanced settings...

There really isn't one to match. The clocks are closest matched on Ice Cream Infusion or StyGian ICS. I really like VOS glass, opaque glass and blackish for my weather skins. They are able to blend into most themes.

for clock i'm using one called "ice cream sandwitch" and also fond of one called "roboto." these are superclock skins not home skins. I will check out VOS glass for weather.

how about battery skins to match ics?

I don't really use the battery skins but it looks like Segmented or Segmented + icon might be a close match

found a pretty good battery match called zapped dual. for weather i'm using jellybean because the raindrops match the cyan, but overall i dunno if i'm happy with it

meh...i am what you call artistically challenged lol

Really bummed that the Sena Ultraslim case keeps the phone awake by pressing on the power button. It doesnt look like I can make any adjustments to the inside seams to reduce the pressure on it either.

Just a shortcoming of having a side power button.

So I asked BB in another thread about her leaving WiFi on all the time. So does everyone here do that? I tried it today, but it looked like when I was at home it would connect to wifi (good), but when I left the house, and was away from a wifi connection, 4G never kicked in (bad). So is there something I have to do to turn on wifi at all times, but have it connect to 4G when there isn't an access point?

i've got wifi on all the time. it immediately connects to 4g when i leave a wifi area (thank you 4.0.3 radios) and it doesn't search for wifi that often (thank you faux's kernel)

I am having trouble getting USB Host mode to work on my Nex. Has anyone else gotten it to work? I've tried mounting through terminal and using that USB Stick app, but nothing.

This is the cable I am using which strangely is no longer available:
Amazon.com: GrayBean Micro USB Host Cable (OTG Cable) - Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy S2/S II/i9100, Nokia N810 / N900, Toshiba TG01 -lengthening Cable 30cm: Electronics

This appears to be the same cable with a right angle connector on the micro end:

What a booger of a storm last night! It knocked a tree down across our road in front of the house. After deputies cut the tree up, I went and swept/shoveled the road clear. Too much like work... but somebody had to do it

Yes I have been able to make it work. I'm on the app so its hard to link but look up stickmount in the market. Let me know if that works or not.

Glad you're ok! Got rough last night in several places in TN and AL.

That's the one I've been using, always says no active mounts. I assume all kernels have this enabled? Or do I need a specific kernel?

Sorry to hear you had to clean it up but I'm glad you're all ok.

Good morning everyone -- happy Monday!

Been a way for a bit, but just hanging out with friends and family and randomly checking in on the internet from time to time. Missed you all though -- plan to spend some more time on here while I am at work since we should be slow this week.

Morning! Welcome back.

Update on new SIM and one way audio issue. Installed the new SIM received from Verizon two nights ago. It is the other SIM, not the same one I had at first. Unlike some others have reported, I did have to call verizon to have them register the SIM to my account. Everything seemed good, including slightly better signal. However, last night, I experienced the one way audio issue again. So, it would appear the new SIM did not fix this. Over on XDA someone mentioned that they called tech support and had them re-provision their account and this solved their problem (they had already replaced the phone and the SIM). I am going to try this as soon as I can use my husbands phone to call as I believe you will have to pull the SIM card when they are done. This kind of makes sense to me that it is not truly a hardware issue but may be how your account is set up. A lot of people who have had this problem have not had it fixed with new hardware, yet others have never experienced it at all. Any one have any thoughts?

How about those Giants!!! :D:D:D

I started having the one-way audio issue again, so I called Verizon tech support and asked them to reprovision the account. She wanted to reprovision the phone and I said no, everything I've read states it's the account that need reprovisioning, not the phone. So she did it, and gave me a test-call with no issues. She said she'd give it a few days and call me back to follow up. Let's hope that fixes my issue.

Verizon may be expensive but their customer service is fantastic!
