discounted maxx out of contract?

I was amazing how little I had to "fight" for an early upgrade. The phone representative even made a comment about how they have been upgrading people all day.
 
Apparently you don't have to "fight" for this one, just add the accessory pack. It's even listed on the demo maxx in store.

Apparently they are or were ringing up like that. Mgr at the local store said there were no deals like that, and even brought out the current promotion list. Again, they were sold out so we couldn't try locally.... all 3 corp stores in my city were sold out.

Maybe it was a glitch in their system, maybe it's still going on. Worth a shot if you have some free time to see if someone will try to ring it up at a corp store!

Yeah - I could do that - but - I don't feel like wasting their time - when it doesn't ring up say - "Thanks anyway - see you later". What they did tell me is that the line my wife has is eligible for a 1-year upgrade. She actually could use the Maxx more than me. Even though I frequent Android forums - out of ignorance I asked what exactly that was - she said that it's 2 year upgrade pricing, with a $20 penalty. I really never knew THAT. Might go that way - and then (try to) sit tight) until May. . .
 
Got mine . Had to call Verizon , and it will be here on tuesday ! thanks .....They gave me the option of any phone other than the iphone 4s . I did have to re-up my contract but its only been 7 months since my last one.....Thunderbolt, Ugh to the battery...problem solved ;)

Details? Lookis like I'm not the only one - what # did you call? I have a TBolt that - I would have no problem ditching!
 
Just got this off xda-developers:

I just managed to get this same deal by calling verizon at *611 the rep told me that it is some kind of promotion being applied for current RAZR customers only.
