Google Chrome Beta for ICS

I have two big problems with it:

- double tapping with my thumb doesn't zoom in far enough IMO

- I'm so used to (and happy with) the quick controls that I'm not sure I can go back...

I do like the tab syncing - I wish it would sync passwords, though. I've been looking for a wholesale password manager and nothing really integrates the way I want it to.

double tap doesn't seem bad for me, seems a little more responsive about the double tap than the stock browser at times.

however yea, don't know about not having quick controls, especially since the leaked 4.0.4 updates have shown to have more controls like honeycomb in the quick controls.

my nit picky but it still bothers me issue,,, i have the habbit in the stock browser to just swipe the webpage closed and it auto-closes the browser app for me. in chrome it just sits there like it is stupid. if i swipe away all pages uhh that means i want you to go away.

oh btw if anyone is wondering your stock ICS browser bookmarks are listed under the "desktop" bookmarks in chrome not the "mobile". so uhh yea even in beta how did they miss that one.

Nice speedy, light browser. Like the tab switching and the bookmarks importing. Came from my Google bookmarks so I guess desktop is the best place for them.

If I cannot view non-mobile versions of websites, it is worthless to me. I have searched online and through all of the menus. I cannot figure out how to turn this off.

How do you make it the default browser? Since I've installed it, trying to google something from the search bar at the top of the launcher just causes the main Browser to crash.

Any ideas?

Anyone try about:debug?

Edit: No joy with this. Doesn't open up any additional menu items.

True on all accounts...

I can't decide if I like the top bar or not. I like that there is a reminder for how many windows/cards I have open (I often forget and find myself clearing them out like once a week), and I actually like the styling (although it doesn't really match ICS), but I think maybe it should auto-hide (but there are times when the auto-hide annoys me too, so maybe I am being fickle

I'm actually not a fan of the styling, I don't think it fits particularly well with ICS. I've also suffered some pretty severe typing lag and general sluggishness. The tabs are handled really well though, and I love the syncing stuff.

Personally, I'm going to stick with the default browser for now, and check back with it gets updated.

scrolling is a little visually choppy for me, at least before the whole page is viewed to get it in graphics cache, I guess...

the sync tabs with other devices worked a bit, only synced one tab, maybe only the current tab in the device.

I didn't think loading was any faster than other browsers, maybe slower.

I think I like the tabs view.

all in all, this looks very promising!

Scrolling is a bit choppy for now as the page does not render fast enough, but overall this will be my new browser for awhile.

Just noticed that when your in the tabs/cards view tilting you're phone up and down slides the cards. Pretty cool look to it. Also I like how it zooms in on the forum posts but I can still see the person who is posting. Before when I zoom in to read they post I couldn't see the poster and now I can. No full site view is a bummer though.

i just downloaded it, and the first thing I noticed before even opening up the app was that it added it's own "quick search bar" ontop of my home screen. So not only would i have the quick search bar that is labeled "Google" (the default one) On top of that and aligned slightly higher is the new search bar.

Did anyone else experience this? If so how do i remove it?! had to uninstall chrome to fix it. I'm running Nova Launcher if that helps

i like the browser, i wish it had a setting to not open each page in overview and remember the zoom you like, like most browsers do.

all the other stuff is really nice.

I like it but it is killing my battery like no other app I've downloaded before. Sticking with the stock browser for now.
