Root [ROM] Froyocream Sandwich v2.0 released: 3/29

If the BT problem isn't in the Themed version(stock ROM), is it better to use that instead? Is there any other differences? Or will there be a way to fix that in an update?

hopefully its fixed in the next update along with the black on black text.... the theme was made with the purpose of a temporary fix for the bluetooth issue but in my opinion the rom is way better i don't use bluetooth so it doesn't particularly both me besides the rom is modded for better graphics, battery, and speed

Well I've been running the new theme with umphkernel OC'd to 1.517 and it looks and feels real good. Bluetooth doesn't knock off data and for once everything works AND it looks and feels great.

I have one last thing though that I am curious about. How plausible would it be to incorporate the volume keys to change tracks. I could very well live without it for the life of this phone but I have always liked that feature. I know I've tried to find tutorials on it and have had no success. Any ideas?

Thanks :) and yeah that feature would be nice but i think that mod must be add in at source level i'll try to see if i can add it but there are no guarantees

I have looked around for the answer to this because it has to have come up before now, but I am not coming up with anything.

I love this rom, but would like to have the ability to install from the market those Gameloft games that currently do not appear after flashing this rom (NFL Pro 2012, etc.) With CM7 or MIUI, the games appear in the market and install properly, but will not actually play without the "Thunderprop" modification. I tried the version for the "stock rom and all its variants" after flashing Froyocream 1.4, but the games still did not appear in the market.

Basically, my 2-part question is...

Would this have--in theory--allowed the games to run properly if I had installed them from locally saved .apk files? If so, then my problem is already solved, and I will just have to mess around with how to accomplish that task.

--or--

If this would not have worked properly, is there any possible way to get the "Thunderprop" modification to work with Froyocream Sandwich 1.4?

Yes if you install the apk the thundermod will work in fact it is built in to the rom

It may be a no-brainer or something, but does this rom have wifi tether? I've seen others comment about lack of tethering but I dont know if they're referring to wifi or usb (or both).

I was on the edge of trying this instead of reloaded, but I have to have wifi tethering!

Usb tethering works with any tether app and if you change the mtu on your laptop you can wifi tether with barnicle maybe in the future the froyo roms will get mss clamping

I noticed this in the last build, and it continued to his one; but for example in the browser when you click "settings" and then "more" the menu that pops up is really really hard to read. Its like a transparent black background with slightly darker black font lol

Yes that will be fixed in the next release

Ok. I believe I have fixed the black on black text. After much reading, it seems that putting @color/white isn't good enough, you need to link it directly with #ffffffff (which is what it is in the colors.xml).

For some reason I can't get the apk to recompile correctly in apk manager (never had problems when I was futzing with the Intercept) so here's the styles.xml file if you want to check it out and make it work.

Line #975 was edited.

styles.xml

Thanks, but I know where it is lol. And I changed 2 lines that countered eachother, resulting in no changes at all.... and the reason it wont compile correctly is because there are images in the framework that go added/removed by accident and the public.xml doesn't get them added. So it errors out. Will clean it up though

Anybody having the problem where no-frills CPU is reverting settings to default after a couple hours? I have "set on boot" checked, and it does set correctly on boot. It also sets correctly manually. Then after two hours or so, the settings are back at the default. Is this a known issue? Is there a solution?

Edit: looks like it happens whenever my phone sleeps

aw man i saw the new update today. nice! features i really use (notification toggle widgets)

I'm wondering if theres any way to port the rotation animation from gingerbread? since its a part of CM7 now.

either way, this is my new rom for the next few weeks.

Get the bootanimation.zip file from the rom you want and overwrite the one in /system/media in Froyocream.

Hey, dudes, has anyone else had a problem with the music app in 1.4 hesitating before playing a song? I ended up root uninstalling it and installing Music Mod from the market. Now this rom is all-around awesome! I was just curious to see if anyone else had this predicament.

I'm letting you know that I am backing up my CM7-Reloaded ROM before installing FroyoCream ROM. See why many of you love it. I'll return when I try most the phone out and of course the HDMI :D
UPDATE: I can find myself using this ROM for daily use but I been having a lot of 1x connections from data, even with 2 bars from time to time. The only time it goes 3G is when the radio has no bars and very seldom it will go no data. I honestly cannot rely on a connection outside the house or anywhere. CM7 hardly never goes 1x on my area. And another thing I did find that there was the issues of mismatched color codes in some menus, I do not have the screenshots. Check this out, go to Stock browser, hit Menu > More and you see it.

Ziggy and Mobstergunz I had the pleasure to try out the HDMI and other features that you have improved from stock ROM. This is a cool ROM and much better than stock. I will keep this ROM backed up, but I am gonna head back to CM7. My data connections on the phone suits me and I already have ICS flavor all over the CM7. Again, I love the ROM but I need the 3G connections to be stable, keep up the good work and thank guys :)

You guys got your thanks in the OP, great job :)
