Must Have GPS App?

I just download "Waze" and really like it. As long as others are using and contribute, it tells me up to the minute road conditions as well as cops, parked cars, and accidents. I just wish it had a higher max volume. With my Razr on max volume I can still barely hear it.

I tried google maps but really didn't like it.

Are there any others I should be looking at? Something that everyone uses? Oh it must be free to download and use.

Waze is about the only choice on iPhone and I was not impressed. It led my wife to the wrong spot on occasion. Got her a Razr...

The more I use Waze the more I don't like it. I like the road hazards and police alerts.. but it always wants to take my down the side streets rather than going the direct route. And there's no option to change it like there is on my wifes Garmin.

It's supposed to learn from your past driving history but I went the same way home from my sons daycare to my house.. defiant of Waze of course who wants me to take all the side streets instead of the main intersection.. and it still hasn't learned after two weeks of doing it.

I'm about fed up with it.

I still think google maps and nav is the best out there. Go into the settings and click Labs. There you can add some neat features too. The fact that GM syncs starred places from a PC, has 3D buildings, Satellite, Terrain, Traffic, Latitude etc makes it pretty awesome. Search and clickable locations seems the best I've seen in any Nav.

For offline, I use Mapdroyd and I believe Navdroyd works without a data connection.
