Dan, I thought I used to see you over in the Moment forum? If I did, then you must have suffered brain trauma recently and I am sorry. If I am mistaken, then you should look into getting a little brain trauma, I'm sure it's got to be less painful than dealing with Sammy. :o

I was in the Epic forum.. Because there was a kind of tug-of-war between evo and epic.. I have the evo

Yeah thats basically the One X coming to Sprint. Hopefully its a modified version with a kickstand and some other goodies. The GS3 is still number one on my list but I'm anxious to see what Sprint brings here.

Looks like we might have a reason or a worthy successor to our long toothed EVO. HTC Jewel is being rumored to be EVO LTE. No word on Specs but Here is the link

HTC Jewel Tipped as Among First Sprint LTE Phones
Nice! If this is going to be the Evo2 LTE I hope they don't botch the layout like they did with the E3D. I need to see a built in kickstand (which HTC has been neglecting), a removable battery (which HTC neglected in the One X ans S), a flush rear camera lens, NO BUTTONS on the side that will lie on the table when utilizing the kickstand, and a mini HDMI out.

Basically if they just take the Evo 4G shell and fill it with new goodies and a better battery and maybe a slightly larger screen, I will happily make the jump.

I'm waiting to see what the HTC Jewel has to offer, but I do agree a quad core processor with LTE (and a better camera) is the next phone I'm looking for.

i'm on my 3rd evo now. sprint offered me ANOTHER evo as replacement. (victim of the 2.3.5 errors), but that would be my fourth so i'm liek meeeeh. my upgrade isn't until next yr. so i've been thinking of doing 1 of 2 things. 1). saying #@&# it and root 2). buying a new phone (photon, connect, galaxy sii are top 3) it's not a bad phone, just gets annoying all the hrs i waste diagnosing then have to take it to sprint only to have the spend more hrs doing the same thing i already did. so make a long story short i'm kinda on the fence. i'd LIKE a reason to keep my evo (wife has 3d) but to many probs.

if you are on the fence.. and about to go get a diff phone...

then why not root it.. throw on a new ROM..
MikG 3.1 for some new Sense feel.
or Miui for a totally different feel..
or a NO-sense ROM for some basic android speed.
or anything in between

what you got to loose at this point???

Indeed! I was recently in the market for a new phone and, instead, flashed the below ROM on my Evo 4G. I used the money I saved to buy a new tablet :)

[ROM] - [MikRoms] - [12/17/2011] - MikG v3.0 - Re-Engineered GB Sense 2.1 + 3.0
MikG v3.0 [12/17/2011])

MikG v3.0 is awesome!

did you know that mikg 3.1 is out? just some tweeks.. and updates...

Thanks for the news, downloading it now :D

EDIT:
I'll be holding onto my Evo 4G for another year, Sprint will be supporting 4G/Wimax until 2015. I hate to see this phone go (it's been an awesome ride!) but the specs on the new phones leave me drooling.
