Long story short, I did a complete factory reset on my phone and deleted everything. I did save a backup though on my computer. But now that I want to restore from it I can't. I go into CWM/Rom Manager and Reboot into recovery. then afer I try to do a restore it gives me some error and doesnt display the file folder of my back up even though I have it inside the cmw folder of my phone. the error says "Couldn't open directory
No files found"
any ideas?

Did you rename the backup?

Did you format your sd card? Check and see how many folder are in it. I or better yet take your sd card out and put it in the sd card adapter and then put that in a sd card reader of a comp off your files are there let us know.. If not on your ad card make a folder called clockworkmod and then one inside of that called backup and place the rom you want to flash to inside of it.

Verifying the files are there and replacing them if so will prolly get this done ASAP.

Thats my problem I don't see the "download" folder or "back up" or "restore". And yes i formatted my SD card.

Ah well whenever you format anything you delete EVERYTHING so now what you need to do is take out your sd card and put it in a computer and make a new folder called clockworkmod on it and the make a folder inside of that one called backup and then put whatever rom you want to flash to inside of that. Cwm doesn't have any roms to flash to which is why it's not working.

Or if I'm miss reading you and your phone boots up fine you can connect it and place whatever files you need on your sd card while your phone is on and connected to your computer.

P. S. When I say place a rom on your sd card you could do that or just put that backup you made back on your sd card since you said you backed it up to your comp.

P. P. S. If you restore the backup you made then whatever problems you had before that caused you to want to stock recover will return.

P. P. P. S. Did you say cwm/rom manager? If you're using the app or another version then the one found on these forums you are gonna screw up your phone. The one found on these forums does not have rom manager on it which is why I ask.

im sorry i should have been a LOT more detailed....ok this is what happened....some member messaged me asking me if i could help him give some of my files from my phone (example boot animation) because he flashed to the stock rom...except that stock rom was for boost and he has sprint. so thats why he asked me because he knew i had the sprint version...so what i did was i told him i was going to try to reset my phone and back up that stock so he can flash from it. so what happened was i backed everything up using cmw/rom manager or however its called but from these forums not the market version because i know for a fact its not supported. so i backed everything up and copied that back up to my pc. then what i did was i rebooted into recovery and did a factory reset and wiped everything off my sd card. i can still use my phone, its working perfectly fine but its completely stock (obviously). so i rooted the phone installed cmw/rom manager or whatever its called off this forum. then i checked my sd card (through pc) and opened the cmw folder. it had nothing but a ".settings" file or something like that but it didnt have the other folders that said back up etc...so i just copied my back up into that cmw folder rebooted into recovery. whenever i try to restore my old back up it gives me this error. if you guys want i can try to post a video (using an iphone 4 *cough* ;))

EDIT: sorry for the rambling lol

so im kinda confused..lol...can you make a new backup?.if your sd got wiped somehow the first backup you make in cwm will recreate a cwm>backup folder.and when you do a datawipe\factory reset...it shouldnt delete anything off your sd...it should be untouched..now if your partitioned you should prolly reformat your sd..but as far as your backups with cwm..they shouldnt be touched

shoot hold on..i think im wrong...but if you flashed shevs stock rom..you should have still been rooted and had cwm..maybe im the one way out in left feild lol

Im pretty sure i can make a new back up...im going to try it in a bit. it deleted everything because I made sure to do a full reset, wiping everything pics, etc...(i backed them up though on my pc). I didnt flash shevs rom, this guy who had the sprint version of the phone did. now it has boost stuff on it and he wanted to get rid of it.
