Have great fun with iPhone... I had the iphone4 since launch, two ipad2s, a mac mini, and a apple tv... But by far the android platform is far better for the phone. At first u will love the iphone4 but give it time and u will become quit bored with it and then will jailbreak only to become bored with that.
What's with the hurry for ICS? It's just another update, it's a little diffferent to gingerbread but you will get over it quickly then wonder what all the fuss was about.
Seriously, don't use kies for anything other than updating because it sucks and don't concern yourself too much with having the latest update because it's really all just hype.
I'm using ICS now, it's really not a big deal, with touchwiz it's almost indistinguishable from gingerbread roms anyway..

I see.
I only charge my phone using it's own charger... What software are you talking about? You only need a browser, which I assume everyone already does...
And most places I go there's wifi, if not, I can use the cable still.

Why use kies? Just connect your computer and phone together and drag and drop your files. Also with Iphone you have to deal with Itunes which is the worst piece of software I have ever dealt with. All the complaints you had about Kies, I have had about Itunes, and then some. At least with Android you have the option to just drag and drop what files you want between your phone and computer, or you can take your sd card out and stick it in the card reader in your computer to transfer files. Try doing that with an Iphone.

Took one look at Kies when I first got an Android phone. It looked and acted just like Nokia's Ovi - which no one liked. Most preferred the older version of Ovi which resembled a BB's interface. Haven't touched Kies since.

Comparing Ovi to Kies is an insult. Ovi>>>>Kies, that's without counting in the older PC Suite.
Kies only real use is for downloading the official updates. LOL.
Well I do have the Samsung charger that came with it, but it's got a UK plug. I don't really like using Chinese foreign plug adaptors, don't want to get electrocuted. Generic USB chargers are available locally, but I don't really trust them, might blow-up my phone.
Doesn't the device have to be running some kind of server software to do that? To make device's file system browsable over a network, e.g. FTP.
We've only got wired Ethernet at our office, because everyone is using PCs and laptops.

I was referring to the full managing type suite.
Depends on the model phone. Up until the SGS2, U.S. Samsung phones officially used Kies Mini whose purpose was little more than updates. However, the SGS2 can use full Kies.
