Root stock ROM request

I agree with most if the others in this forum, that we nay not see a lot of ROM developers doing work on the LG Spectrum; however it would be really nice if someone can just do a dump of the sick ROM, since we have root and CWM already.
I might be returning mine Wednesday after I receive new one from Amazon ($59 for a new account) vs. the $199 I paid at Verizon 30 hours ago... Of I do, and it would help, I'd be happy to do a nandroid with no changes but root and CWM done to it. I would be able to pm a link to a volunteer with experience

I can do a port of the Nitro Rom, which is close to stock. I don't really like the stock look, which is why I haven't done so already, but if that's something people are interested in, I'll do it.

I'm still testing my CM7 build. The issue is there are no rom builders like CM giving any support to this or the Nitro, so we have to build the repos ourselves and since we have the only LG phone that's CDMA/4G, it's not as simple as it is for building for other manufacturers (say what you will about motorola, but building for most of those devices is easy).

I was only asking for it, as when I had my notion ink Adam the Devs always started with a stock (not ASOP but the factory default system install, rooted) for each Android OS build, then other Devs could customize from that build and we ended up with several variants of each OS version.

Thought having one available for the spectrum would motivate others to builds roms for us

Also hoping LG will drop ICS on us sooner rather than 2H 2012. Although not sure I want it... been happy with 2.3.3 and 2.3.5 on my other devices

The problem is the Spectrum is totally different than any other LG phone out there and is the only cdma/LTE phone from LG, so it's an uncharted water. It's rather easy to deodex the stock and I could even kang Nitro's Domination rom (which I did, just need to test), but building a CM7 or CM9 rom for the phone from scratch is preferred for me.

Word is we're supposed to get an ICS update. Though if it's skinned anything like it is now, I'll pass. lol

I was wondering, would the ROM that's on the Revo work as a starting point? At least for the LTE/RIL stuff? It is a 4G CDMA based LG device. I have a backup (somewhere) of my Revo stock ROM, unrooted. I can host it if you guys need me to.

It might. The Nitro (p930) is most similar to our phone, but THANK YOU for this... there is a revo repo on github I can use as a clone source! That might save me some serious time


BTW, I got the Domination ROM for Nitro ported to our device. It installs, but there's a bootloop bug. We're almost there.... almost.

Just let me know if you need a nandroid of Gingervolt or the stock ROM from the Revo. Mine is still alive, so I can pull whatever you might need from it.

Nice work btw on the Domination ROM. I have heard some good things about that one.

I think I got the repo situation sorted... I'm compiling cm7 and no errors yet *knocks on wood*

*edit*... yet, I don't think CM7 is compatable with our board. I'm going to manually edit the 'make' file to force it, but I think this is just the beginning of issues. :/

I get my spectrum tonight! Will begin working on some stuff once I get it! Verizon is sending me one as a replacement for my revo, but I have to return the revo

Wait... you're getting a Spectrum as a replacement for your Revo?! Damn! I got my Revo as a replacement for 3 Charges (they all went south). I was *trying* to get either a GNex or a Spectrum as a replacement. Lucky!

That's the plan, but the only problem is I did not get my spectrum Friday they said it didn't ship out until Friday so now I will get it on Monday.

I've had that happen a few times now. My wife's bionic was delayed three days because they "forgot" to ship it out.

Let me know if you'd like my Revo. I have to hit FedEx on Tuesday.
