Help Phone not ringing when called...

Not knowing which model phone and manufacturer it is, but start by checking the volume control, then go into the settings for incoming calls. Check and set the default ringtone or if you have downloaded other ringtones, change to one of them, then make a call back to your device by either a landline or other mobile device. Hopefully this will solve the problem, but if not, repost with the results. ok
 
Yes all notifications are turned on... But it is weird because I do not get a missed call notification or anything..
 
My Wife's phone does the same thing but randomly and its usually when my phone calls her. I checked it myself called and watched her phone and nothing. The only thing I can figure is I'm the only contact that has a selected ringtone on her phone and it just doesn't process it sometimes. After a reboot it works fine for a while.
