Best 32gb microsd card

I ran out of space from my droid x :/ and all this came with is the same gb. I want to buy one off amazon or something, but I dont want one that doesnt work for obvious reasons..
 
Be sure to get a class 10 card for speed. You want instant saving when taking HD video.

go on newegg and find one with high customer ratings. That's what I always do.
 
I have a Samsung one and it is great.

If I would you though, I would skip 32GB and save up for 64GB.
 
I know this doesn't directly answer your question but I used Amazon "Cloud" for my music. I also ran out of room on my X so I put my 15g of music on the cloud to save space. Streaming is really consistent too.

This is only good for people grandfathered into an unlimited plan or on wifi 24 hours a day.
 
I would stick with the Sandisk 32 gb class 4. It gets class 6 speeds and you can buy it for a fraction of the cost of the decent class 10 cards ($31 vs. $50+). With the Sandisk class 4 card I get about 9 mb/s on read and 7 mb/s on write. The reviews I have seen on most class 10 cards are painfully slow when writing smaller files. This is probably not a big deal if you are only doing large video files but if you are doing smaller files it is significant. If you do go class 10 avoid the PNY one.

Also beware of buying memory from other sellers than reputable on-line sites. I have been burned several times. The above link is sold by Amazon.

Does Motorola have a list of certified or recommended SD memory size or manufacturers? Actually, I wonder what the max write speed the Razr can do to a SD mirco card. I will look into this........Cheers......RT

UPDATED: 2-10-2012 - According to level 2 tech support at Motorola the Razr will only take a max of 32gb of external Micro-SD memory. Also, they only recommend a Class 4 Micro-SD card at this time. They could not answer my question in regard to the Razr's write-speed to the Micro-SD card. So it may be a waste of money purchasing a class 6 for now.......Cheers.......RT

The write speed of the device itself is not the reason I get faster memory cards. I like to write mp3 and video files quickly to the card from my computer with a memory card reader. I would guess that many people that are getting faster cards are doing so so that they can copy files to their cards faster with card readers.
 
Good point! Hadn't considered that use for the SD card, but makes perfect sense. I also read a thread in this forum, that 64gb works just fine, although Motorola is not currently recommending that size of memory at this time. They don't recommend rooting either. LOL.

If I were to buy a new 32 GB card, can I just copy everything over from the old 16 GB card and expect the transition to be seamless (if I format the 32 GB card through the phone first)? I just got the phone yesterday and have put most of my apps on it.
 
I was thinking about saving up for a 64 micro sdxc, does anybody know if they have been confirmed to work in the US versions of the MAXX. I have read reports that the EU one works fine but just want to confirm before i go off buying an expensive, dime sized, piece of plastic.

I bought the 32GB Razr Maxx, and figured that meant it came with the 32GB card installed. So when I check the storage numbers, it only says 16GB. What's up? Do I need to replace it with the 32GB? They offer a 16GB Maxx, so had I bought that, would it have come with an 8GB card? LOL.

32GB of TOTAL storage space (minus formating, etc). So 16gb SD card PLUS 16GB internal. The Razr 16GB doesn't have the SD card (yes, they are effectively charging $50 for a 16gb sd card).
If you want a 32GB card (for 48GB total space), then yes you will have to buy one.

Since the normal 16 GB Razr is $199 now... and a lot of people bought it when it first came out for $299 with 32 GB total storage..

the first people to buy them (like me) paid $100 for a lousy 16 GB SD Card.

I had the same question and took take of it, so figured to answer you and whoever else reads this post later on.

1. Power down the cell phone, remove the 16gb card.
2. Insert the 16gb card into your home pc and copy all the info into a designated folder. Remove card.
3. Insert the new 32gb card into your pc, RENAME the card, name it "MOTO", which is what the 16gb card is named.
4. Copy and paste all the stuff you had on the 16gb card from your pc onto the 32gb card. Remove card.
5. Insert the 32gb card into the cell phone. Power up the phone.

-End.

It will pick up the 32gb flawlessly, at least it did for me. ;)
 
This got me thinking on mine, I knew it when I bought it that it came with 16Gb SD and 16Gb internal, but my internal only shows 8Gb when I plug it in via USB. So my question is 8Gb of the 16Gb reserved for system files and then the other 8Gb for personal storage?
