Help Help Request: Users with dock can you assist?

Evening guys and gals. I'm looking for some support from anyone that has the Prime and the Dock.

Here is the issue, I believe my dock is either faulty or there is a major issue with all docks. But I need the assistants of the community to see if I have an isolated problem or it is widespread.

The problem I am having is transferring a large amount of files from the SD slot and the USB port on the dock to the tablet.

I have been trying to transfer 1.5gb of photos from my SanDisk x6 SDHC 8gb in the SD slot. Using the standard file browser (Select All/Copy/Paste) it fails after 20 or so files are transferred, in ES file browser it fails straight away. So I went back to Astro, zipped the files and tried to transfer, this got to 50% and then hit me with an I/O error!

After contacting Asus support they suggested transferring fewer files! We are talking about 100's of files here!!! Using a select/copy/paste method would take forever! So I have been milling this over before replying. But today I wanted to transfer 4gb of music onto the prime. So this time I used my Lexar 10x SDHC 32gb microSD card via a Lexar USB adapter.

And surprise surprise the copy/paste failed straight away!!! So I decided to slip the microSD card into the tablet instead and would you believe all 4gb of data transferred without a hitch!

Sooo, can you guys and gals give me a hand and do some testing on your own primes for me please? If you could test the USB and SD slots with a transfer of 1 to 2gb worth of files and report back what happens?

Thank you. :)

Hi, I just copied 1.2 GB of files from a USB stick then from an SD card and didn't get any errors. It sounds like you have a fault somewhere.

I just ran a test myself and I had no trouble transferring large amounts of data. I transferred 1.28GB of files without issues. You may indeed have a defective dock. If I were you, I'd return it ASAP.

Thank you Trek, now in the process of sorting things out with Asus.
