Help Samsung GP 5 update help?

On Samsung Kies, would the program need to be up to date to detect an update for my SGP 5? Cause on my sistets pc it says the firmware is up to date. How can I get it from version 2.2.2 to 2.3.6?? All and any help is appreciated. Thanks.

if your in the UK, it only has 2.2. I sent samsung an email, and there are currently no plans to update it to 2.3. That was recieved yesterday.

I'm in New Zealand, but most likely runs on the UK version. What a letdown.

Just some reading and patience needed BTW, ICS is being ported as we speak!
