Help On contract with 3?

thinking about getting the one x on a 3 contract - just two questions:

1. Is the phone SIM free?

2. How are 3 in regards to releasing updates
 
If you get it via contract, it's highly likely it won't be SIM Free. I managed to snag my DHD SIM Free direct from Orange, but it was one of the first batches they hadn't had the opportunity to add their branding/CID too. I'm not sure what the deal will be with 3.

Again, going from DHD experience, they were the last of the carriers to roll out gingerbread and they were very good at shifting the blame, but they might have learned their lessons and are a bit better now.

As an aside, their coverage is good and speeds are excellent, but their customer service is terrible. Mrs Presidente was 3 for a year and ended up going back to O2. Unless you're answering a question that they have on their knowledge base, they'll either tell you to visit a store or factory reset. You do have us though. It also took about 2 hours on the phone to their retentions team and talking to several different analysts before their service desk would give her the PAC code too
 
Mines coming on Thrusday so can try it. i was after the nexus but too expensive, and then they offered me the One X so well pleased
 
That's quite an impressive deal.

I know they use O2's network, not sure if the handsets are branded or network locked. Wouldn't surprise me if the clubcard app came pre installed though :p
 
Horror. I was just asked which of two non one x related items I would like for my birthday. Then, added was a statement that I could only get it if it was "cheap". Not sure if it's a prank (my family is like that) or if my chances of holding a one x by my birthday are long gone :'(



Also , im not sure if ive previously mentioned this in another post , but how much do you reckon the price SIM free would drop by the end of April?
 
Got my HOX on 3 yesterday as an upgrade, unfortunately the software is branded meaning updates will take longer as they have to load their crap onto it. Also I'm pretty sure it is locked to 3 sims. It is a pitty as the phone is gorgeous and super fast, really loving it but just waiting to root it so I can remove all the crappy bloatware.

You can disable a lot of the bloat via the apps menu. Settings -> Apps -> All, select your app -> Disable.

I know what you mean, I just tried it with a couple of apps and they even vanish from the app drawer (I thought it just prevented them from running on startup).

Not by much I imagine, when there's an announcement about a new iPhone, the SGS3, then you might see a price drop. That's just speculation on my part though.
