Droid: Add additional Home Screens for icon shortcuts

The Droid OS comes with only 3 home screens for adding shortcuts and widgets. Any apps in the Android Market to add additional screens?
 
I haven't come across any of these home apps that are compatible with the droid. Because of the large screen they usually cause problems since they are programmed for a smaller resolution. Hoping that they fix this soon though.
 
They didn't specify a time that the update will be completed, but they did say that they are aware of the Droid compatibility and are working on an update.
 
Open home is somewhat functional. It randomly force closes but opens right back up, so it's not much of an issue besides being mildly annoying. Hoping another option comes out though :rolleyes:

I have been using Open Home since the 7th, it is plenty compatible with the Droid's hi res screen. Not free tho ($4)
 
I've already downloaded a million apps that I love, the way I handled organization is to create folders. Hold finger on the desktop for a moment and click Folders. Then place.

I am having trouble naming the folders though, anyone know how to name folders?
 
I want to find a program, ahome, open home, or panda home, that will allow me to add additional home screens without having to use one of those programs' themes.
 
Sorry to necrpost but I also seek a simple home screen expansion app that ONLY adds more screens. No themes, no extras, just simple extra home screens only.

Thoughts?

Launcher+ by Intuitit
only adds more screens I think you can do from 5-12 or something
Just make sure you delete all widgets before you start using Launcher+ because not all widgets can run on 2 homes.

It kinda lagged when I tried it a while ago, I since have rooted and don't need it, because the ROMs have 5 screens.

If you don't want to go that route, you can try
More Icons Widget by pcm2a
The free version lets you have 3 icons +widget settings in place of a 1x1 spot. You can place as many 1x1 widgets as you see fit.

The paid version lets you remove the settings giving you 4 icons in a 1x1 spot. It will also let you make a 1x2 and 1x4 widget giving you 8 and 16 icons respectively.
 
thanks. So I am not sure if your saying delete my widgets totally off the phone or remove them from your screens, install, then put widgets back on? if it is the former, getting rid of widgets is not an option. I have some I must use. if it is the latter, no biggie.

yes, I saw that More Icons Widget, but did not really dig the concept.

kind of interesting there are not more options to simply just add more home screens.. that ability always seems to come in the package of a convoluted new launcher with themes and a bunch of stuff I don't really want as I like it stock that way, just want a few more screens.

I will look into Launcher+

Launcher+ is awesome. The ability to hold the Settings button and get little floating representation of all of your home screens so you can quick jump to one is as awesome as simply adding more home screens.

this is great, more home screens and nothing more..

app by the same developer, but what's the diff?? hard to see/tell from the description. can you explain how Home++ and Launcher+ are different?
 
i'm not sure i've never used launcher+. I should try that. I believe that Launcher just expands the number of home screens, while Home++ gives you additional functionality and widgets you can use (like that bottom link bar.)

I'm with you that the 2.1 OTA is at this point unknown. I'm using a hacked firmware of 2.1 beta release myself. Have you tried rooting your for and using a mod firmware?
 
call me a wuss.. but i figure i'll wait for the OTA and not have a possibility of bricking my phone and/or voiding my warantee :) I'm not a linux guru.
