Help Wi-fi problem

I just picked up the new HTC One X yesterday and am having problems getting the Wi-fi to stay connected to the modem. It connects fine but then keeps dropping out and reconnecting only to drop out again and keep going through the same loop.
It's not the phone because I took the first phone I got back thinking it was a phone problem only to have the 2nd phone do the same thing.

I've called HTC who have no idea what to do and neither does my phone provider.
Anyone else have the same problem and managed to fix it?

Is this happening with all WiFi connections or only a particular one like art home or work? If it's a particular one it's likely the router.

At the moment I've really only tried at home because I'm on holidays from work. Im going to take it back to the store and get them to connect it to their wi-fi and see if drops out from theirs too.

I have a similar problem. Trying to connect to my home wifi the message I get is "Out of range". I'm within 1 meter of the modem and it has connected previously without a problem.
I'll be back at the retailer tomorrow.

Does your phone connect to other wifi spots okay? If so, you probably just have to hard reset the router (usually a little pinhole on the back of the router)

It is now connecting to wifi. I rebooted the modem, restarted the phone and re-entered the Pword and bingo.
I've only tried the home connection. My Samsung GS2 I use for work is fine and never had a connection issue. I'll keep an eye on the HTC.

well this isnt very promising, i think i may hold of on this phone for the time being, wifi is something i use alot of and its paramount i have a phone with no wifi issues.

I wouldn't be too worried. I haven't had any issues since the one problem I had last night.
That one hiccup hasn't spoiled my enjoyment of this mighty phone. In all respects it is worth getting hold of one.

Sorry, I should have updated this post.
I solved my problem by doing a firmware upgrade on the router. I wasn't able to do it myself but the computer stoe that I bought the modem from did the upgrade for me free of charge and the wi-fi works perfectly at home now. Lucky, because I also use the wi-fi quite a bit too.
