Hey this is probably a repost but how can i connect my ps3 controller to my transformer prime without the dock or i there a way i could buy a micro hdmi yo micro usb or connect to the propietart charging port

blaxican, you stated in the other thread that you had to plug in via usb 1st, could this be the problem by any chance?

if so then the usb adapter from asus will be needed, or a loan of one or the keyboard dock from someone.

If I could possibly thread jack....
I just bought a generic PS3 controller that connects via a USB card and I get nothing. I have the dock, but I can't get anything to happen once it's plugged in, I've hit connect, I get the blinking dots on the controller, but nothing. Any thoughts.

how about someone get a walkthrough for people who doesn't know or really understand for the more tech-enabled users here rather then just showing us videos and pictures rubbing it in my face, heh i don't mean to be mean but don't you all think it's kinda rude that they won't sure if it's "Soooo easy" XD not trying to be mean but show us please. a text walk through would be fine just show us if there's apps or if there's something needed? was it done fully wireless or otherwise. thanks sorry for the angry letter XD

I would also appreciate it. If it helps anyone, this is the controller I bought (don't own a PS3 anyway):
DreamGear - Radium Wireless Controller for PlayStation 3 - Black - DGPS3-3808

^_^ that's pretty epic. i've been fighting the ugre to buy the gamestop controller but if anyone and explain the process i save like 40 bucks

1. You have to use a sony ps3 controller for 100% success.

2. You have to be rooted if you do not have a dock.

3. Your beter off rotted anyway using the sixaxis app from the market here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5kYW5jaW5ncGl4ZWxzdHVkaW9zLnNpeGF4aXNjb250cm9sbGVyIl0.

4. you need to download the free program from dancing pixels on their website to change the bluetooth address on the controller to match the bluetooth address on your tablet in Settings> About Tablet> Status and scroll down. Make sure you have bluetooth turned on before you look for this.

5. follow the directions of the program and enter the bluetooth address from your tablet into the program on your computer and save it to the controller.

6. start app on tablet and push ps logo on controller. The controller should turn off when you end the app or turn off bluetooth.

IF YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON A DOCK OR CAN GET THE USB ADAPTER YOU DO NOT NEED TO ROOT NOR NEED THIS SIX-AXIS APP.

For the sake of argument and can get access to either a dock or usb adaptor (tf101 usb adapter supposedly works)

Use the USB cable hard lined to the dock/tablet and the controller should be found. Attempt to play a game and use the controller. After approx 5 minutes end your game and turn on bluetooth. Disconnect your controller from USB hardline and attempt to turn it on wireless. The controller should be found by the tablet.

WARNING: When you are done with the controller the tablet will not turn it off by this method. If you did not originally set the controller to turn off in a set time from being idle on a Playstation 3 your controller will continue to blink until the controllers battery is dead. Not that this is the end of the world but more an inconvience, I have my controllers set to turn off in 10 minutes when idle.

Worst case situation:
get a dock/USB adaptor from a retailer and return it when done.
get a PS3 from walmart to set time out feature in the controller (Only a PS3 can write this to the controller from what I understand) and then return it when done.
follow the procedure above

As of right now there is no way to root if you are on software version .21 (asus patched the hole that was giving root in this version) unless you unlock your bootloader and flash a ROM with root already in it say like Primalicious. You might be able to find an older software version ROM out there as well to try to embed superuser.
