So 1 week has gone since I got my precious Samsung Galaxy I7500 and I thought I might summarize my experiences.
My first impression of the phone was that it was really thin. Much thinner than what it looked like on the pictures and videos floating around on the internet.
Otherwise it seemed very responsive and well build with the great AMOLED screen as the main feature.
The screen was brilliant to look at in the daylight and as the first day was about to end and it slowly went dark outside I was even more amazed with the contrasts this screen was capable of showing.
My first disappointment with this phone was when I woke up the next morning realizing that the battery, which was on 100% the night before was almost empty!!
I just could not believe my own eyes when I saw this. I could not stop thinking about how much they had emphasized up to the release that the battery was so big compared to other similar smartphones and the innovative and fantastic AMOLED screen would almost not use any power at all so you would practically be able use this phone for a very long time on a single charge.
What the nice people at Samsung apparently forgot to mention was that this phone actually uses approximately as much electricity as a middle sized nuclear power plant can produce...!
Ok, I might have exaggerated a bit there but I think you get my point.
I knew that I could not compare the battery life of this phone to my old phone (my 5 year old Sony Ericsson W800i) even though I also used that one for surfing the internet and playing music every day, but still I was really shocked to see the facts.
Since this is my first Android phone / smartphone with a big screen I was sort of hoping that it was just my mistake and that I just needed to find and adjust the settings for the phone and then I would be able to reduce this massive power consumption.
This sort of succeeded for me when I found the application
