The price is

If that's the case (about $50-$100 more for the next higher storage version), wouldn't it be cheaper to to get the 16GB version and an SD expansion card?

Over 600 quid to pay for the SGS3 is a ridiculous amount of money! I really hope Samsung don't copy the rip-off prices Apple quote for their versions. How much does the 32GB HTC One X cost?

Does the SGS3 64GB version come with a microSD card slot too?

Yes, all versions have a microsd slot.

Apple can only get away with charging such high prices per GB because they don't allow SD cards. Samsung won't be able to (or doesn't want to) take the same path, in my opinion it will be much more reasonable priced.

Hope so :D

Keep telling myself I should wait until it comes down in price, as it usually happens quite quickly with Android phones, but with the phone coming out the day before my birthday and the Carphone Warehouse offering

16Gb enough memory?

My music collection alone is over 16Gb it's rapidly approaching 20Gb, that's without any videos that I have done or downloaded!

16Gb would be of no consequence whatsoever!

32Gb would be a minimum if I were to consider it + my 64Gb SDXC card.

Sorry but the 64Gb version is the only realistic proposition for me, even then I would add my 64Gb SCXC card to it, to give me enough memory.

That is why it also supports uSD cards. Add a 64GB card to 16GB internal, and you will not have to worry about storage any time soon.

And add the 50GB from Dropbox, and you can extend that time a bit more.

I use Dropbox every day to back up important files and the 50GB from Dropbox is a great offer that I'll certainly be taking advantage of. That being said, I don't think it really extends the storage of the device for everyone as you need a net connection in order to use it. It's not practical for storing movies and apps etc but it's a great way of backing up your photos online as most users don't need access to all their photos all the time (compared to say their music collection).
