is it a good light? like solid?
you know how some products are light and feel like they may break?how does the incredible feel?
Ok, did some more looking around at the docs that I have and I think I can confirm Stericsons 8gb onboard flash storage (ie Pre+):
So slap a 32gb micoSD in that bad boy and you got some serious storage! And I wonder if the means that Google is going to use the 8gb onboard for app storage. That would be sweet
And as far as weight goes, it is lighter than the N1.
Since i didnt see anyone asked stericson about the reception on the incredible i asked him on gtalk
stericson.g1: No problem with the reception
: thats great what about the location of the antenna
stericson.g1: Not to sure where that's at

I think what we're seeing here is what Google said they would be doing eventually. They said a couple of months ago, in a press conference I believe, that Android would eventually be able to store apps on the micro SD card. So, I think what we're seeing is the Incredible being the first phone to have this advantage.
How this makes sense to me is: 512 RAM (basically the speed of the phone, how fast it can run applications and how fast the phone "responds" when you're using it) and 512 ROM (onboard storage for apps, etc.) Now...here is where I think we're reading this wrong. They're including the 8GB as an EXTENSION of the ROM. The 8GB they're refering to is the micro SD card. The reason they're including it in the ROM specs is because this phone will allow you to now store apps on the micro SD card.
That makes perfect sense to me. I'm sure a lot of us remember the press conference when Google executives said that they were "working on this" or something, and that they would have Android able to store apps on removable media soon. I think this is what we're seeing and the Incredible is the first to employ this new storage process.
With NKT's new info, i tried to do some moviNAND research, and I found this site which explains the emmc memory. I also found that this is the same memory that the pre uses for ROM like NKT said.
Don't think they're shipping with 32gb cards. I've heard it shipping with a 8gb.
OK, maybe I'm wrong on this one. (Edit: I AM wrong) I think I might be. The 8GB of moviNAND flash storage is BUILT IN the phone. This makes sense now. Because if it's built in they can make it to where you can't "rip" apps off of your phone and just give them to people or share them on the internet for free. Think about how small 8GB can be brought down to now days. I have a micro SD card in my current phone and it's seriously TINY. I got it two years ago. So, I'm sure they can make 8GB of on-board storage on this phone not take up much space at all in the hardware of this phone. I retract my former case. I looked up moviNAND and I agree with you guys, it's built in.
So, yes, you can throw in a 32GB micro SD card and...dear lord...that would definitely be an iPhone killer, in my opinion. If they include a 32GB micro SD it REALLY would be.
#5974 pg 120Yes, my source still has his phone.
also, I thought yall would like to know he said the storage on the phone is mountable like an sdcard, he tried it while the sdcard was out, My source says it shows up as two devices.
Also, the market is the same as the droid, and Verizon hasnt done any integration with sense from what he tells me.

I really don't think they'll need to ship with an additional SD card now....some people won't want to pay the extra up front cost, and some will want a bigger card, so I see them selling the Incredible sans sd card.
In Box: Device, 8GB SD Card Standard Battery (1300mAh), A/C Charger, USB Cable, Quick Reference Guide (link to UM), Read First Poster.
Cool, I figured that with the 8GB onboard, they could get away without includinga card, but I'm not gonna complain.![]()
I remember reading way back in this thread that the battery is one of the criteria that the FCC looks at before passing a phone, and if the size of it changes, the phone would have to go back through for FCC approval. So, I think that we are stuck with that battery ...
