The idea of using the Seidio battery extender just does not work out. More over you dont really get a huge jump in power when you do the math. The Seidio is only 3200mAh. This is a replacement for the 1400mAh that the Nexus one comes with. Not in conjunction. So you only gain 1800mAh. For the Incredible its stated that you are going to get a 1300mAh battery out of the box so your still only getting a 1900mAh jump in juice. But there are other alternatives. Just like the iPhone (I hate that word by the way) you can get external batteries. There are many types and styles out there.

Only a 1900mAh jump? I don't think you comprehend this precisely. That is a 246% increase in battery life. Meaning you get 246% more time with the phone. So unless the phone couldn't even make it 6 hours on a charge with the standard battery this battery will easily get you through the day. This is a huge increase in capacity and will more than suffice for everyone...Except those hoping to use the phone for a week without recharging.

NKT. I would like to go out of the way and say thank you instead of just tagging one of your posts. You like many other posters on this forum do not have any responsibility to posting here. But you chose to. For that I am glad. It has given great insight to allot of people. On a side note it has passed time for me while I am at work where I would not otherwise have anything to occupy my time. So. THANK YOU!

I think the point I was trying to make is that...Yes you will get an increase. But in comparison to the other battery extenders that I linked it does not hold a candle. So you will get almost 2 days worth of juice instead of 1. Or for those of us that are going to surf the web and watch movies on the phone you will get through a full day.

I just hope we get the incredible before May 22nd. Thats the day I take my family to Walt Disney World for 9 days. I would love to take the incredible with me. Heck, I might even get my picture took holding the incredible with "The Incredibles" at Disney Hollywood Studios! :)

Non-ionizing radiation doesn't cause cancer.

nice... and here i thought everything now adays caused cancer... all joking aside does any of the paperwork you received talk about HD video recording. i know you said it wouldnt be doing HD recording out of box i was just wondering if it was mentioned anywhere that they are expecting an upgrade and when

Plus one hour closer. Did everyone remember to set their clocks ahead one hour?

So that's why the clock on my wi-fi internet radio is off. But here in Arizona we don't change the clocks. Kinda sucks since it means in the middle of the summer it's dark by 8:00 pm. But still 110 degrees at that time anyways.

16bit color is an Android limitation. The screen is capable of 262k capable though.

The Incredible looks phenomenal. Of course that's a subjective judgment.

I think you mean the screen is 16.7million color capable. ;)

The "report" from a few weeks ago was using 2.1's built in gallery which for some stupid reason only displays 16bit color. If you used the browser or another gallery you wouldn't get the banding they "scientifically" claimed because they would use 24bit color.

Of course I believe the complaints about washed out in direct sunlight are valid. I haven't seen them myself, so I don't know how bad it is or what "direct" sunlight is defined as. Even my V9's lcds look bad in direct sunlight. I don't see it being a huge problem though.

I got a quick question for everyone out there: How many 'skinny jean' wearing folks do we got on this forum? If you're one of them, please take no offense, I was just wondering as a guy who could never fit into a pair in my life (I'm a cyclist and former hurdler, we tend to have big thighs ) because I have seen the reference to these particular pants many times within these pages. Just having a little fun with all ya'll, I do see the point of pocket-ability for everyone.

I'm an avid cyclist and ALL jeans are skinny jeans where my thighs are concerned.

I hear your pain, brother. Although my Storm (which I once thought was State of the Art) is a POS, the one thing I never even thought about was whether or not a cracked screen would become an issue. But, then again...common sense dictates to not put anything else in the pocket with the device.

After reading all of these pages, I have a question that I haven't seen asked yet. I bought an Eris and love the phone but I will be taking it back. The deal breaker for me on this phone is the vibrate mode. It is horrible. I have missed more calls and messages than with any other phone. As a school principal I can't have my phone ringing all the time and yet, I have to be able to be contacted where ever I am.

Can either of you ask your contact how strong the vibrate ringer is on the Incredible and can they feel it when in their pocket.

Thanks
Bob

Hey guys, just a quick heads up...as you know, sometime real life can get in the way of the fun stuff (Incredible) and that's exactly what's happened to me over the last 48 hours. I should be good to go again by Monday but in case there's any late breaking news/updates/spec's that are worthy of going on the first post please PM me and i'll do my best to update ASAP...as far as i know it's all up to date.

On a side note, when i have some time i'd like to write up a proposal for the "Incredible community" on how to possibly run this sub-thread (HTC Incredible) over the course of it's lifecycle that should provide a much better experience for the end user(s).

I work for a Fortune 1 (yes, not 100, 500, or 1000, but 1) company (no names, but you can probably guess) and I manage a team of developers and am in charge of product introduction and rollout (which means managing expectations, documentation, support, etc...) so i'd like to propose implementing some of those same concepts which work very well to this forum and provide a well organized, planned, and managed "one stop shop" for Incredible owners. I would like buy-in from the community at large and also the Admin's/Mod's as the concept would mean a bit more structure (no restrictions, just to be clear, in case this raises flags for anyone). I think it would be an interesting experiment and in my opinion, and experience, provide a superior experience for the end user. More on this later...but any preliminary feedback is very welcome and appreciated.

This might be a good sign. Amazon.com: htc incredible .

As goblue said this has been out there for quite awhile now. Keep in mind that when its not being sold by Amazon the store owner says who makes the item. Heck look at the first item and the first part of the description "The A Days Tech Professional Charging USB Data Cable outperforms the originally manufactured (OEM) cable and all other aftermarkets commonly seen elsewhere!". Hence that cable is not made by HTC.

So are you saying something like specific sections within the Incredible forum dedicated to things like tech support, tips and tricks, issues, apps etc...and within each of these headings you will find user threads on the specific topics? If it makes it easier for us to communicate and discuss all things Incredible once its released, I am all for it.

I am hoping for some great screen results with this phone. The nexus one, with all of the multitouch issues, uses the ClearPad 2000. So maybe the Incredible will have the best of them all, the ClearPad 3000!

Let's hope so. I wonder what the price point is for the ClearPad 2000 versus the ClearPad 3000. 10 point tracking is pretty awesome on a phone. Multi-touch apps would defiantly get a boost from this. I know I've got a couple ideas for multi-touch incorporation on phones now.

First off after launch everything in the forum needs to be deleted. Its all concerning pre-launch stuff or just useless garbage (I really don't care about the average age of an Incredible user). Then as Android&Dom said you have your subforums for support (further divided into tips&tricks and problems), Your incredible (either further divided into screens and apps or just call it show off your screens), accessories, and news and speculation.

No offense, but is it possible to try to make an attempt to keep this thread on topic. There has to be already at least one Apple Lawsuit thread on this forum. It can be a struggle to wander through this thread and pick out the on topic conversation amoungst the many rabbit trails posted? :)

Kind regards

Any info on what accessories that may ship with the phone. I'm hopping for a decent set of earbuds and a pouch at the least. Don't really care about micro SD cards as I have an 8GB and two 16GB already. Plus with 8GB ROM it won't be that big of a deal. Maybe they'll have multiple backs ... one red one black :)

Maybe a bluetooth headset or at least an option for one. Mine went bad and I've been putting off buying a new one until I get a new phone. I'm not really worried about a microSD card especially if it has 8 GB internal storage. I think different color backs would be nice for more customization :). I might be wrong but I think Verizon did something like this with the Chocolate Touch so its possible to get some different colors.

So the Desire is going to have 720p video capabilities, implemented with a software update...do you think the Incredible is in the same boat? I think NKT and Stericson (one or the other) said the Incredible wouldn't be 720p capable...but how would they know this based on the hardware alone, assuming the software has not been updated to include 720p video.

I for one am going to expect the Incredible to include 720p video capabilities, the processor can def handle it...but its not a make or break deal, more like a bragging point lol.

I'd say that if the RAM is equal to or greater than the desire's RAM, I can't see anything that wouldn't allow them to do a software upgrade to 720p recording since we know the snapdragon chip is capable.

I was hoping for 720p also. I think if it doesn't come with it initially it will come with a software upgrade later like the Desire. They are probably just still working on the encode/decode software. Not a make or break for me either but it would be nice to have better video from my phone than in my current camcorder. Would definitely need to have a 32g SD card though.
