[Official] Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE Pre-release thread - Sprint official launch is Saturday, June 2

sprint do not USUALLY ship their phones days before release, however you SHOULD and most likely WILL get it on 18 MAY (i base this off the last 2 EVO releases). Sprint usually ships OVERNIGHT the day before the official launch, so foregoing any natural disasters, acts of God, etc, nearly 99.6% of the people who order before 12 pm CDT 17th may should get their phone processed and shipped that day, including pre orders.
 
So is It just me or did sprint finally go on the record today and go 100% public with the national release date!?!? And didnt they Say once they do that 1-3 days there after our devices would ship !? Well i still haven't got any confirmation email for shipping or tracking # !?
 
I just called Sprint. I was told they don't have the notice of when they are going to ship, but if I have access to the Internet, I can put in my order number and check the status at sprint.com/myorder.

April 2012: When will the LTEvo come out? **Sigh** Indications point to a May 7 pre-sale and S4GRU says it has a confirmed June 10 launch. I can't freakin' wait.

Monday, 5/7/2012: OMG, is it possible? Sprint may launch the LTEvo on May 18 -- ALMOST A MONTH EARLIER THAN EXPECTED! Hallelujah! They truly love their customers! Sprint 4 lyfe!

Wednesday, 5/8/2012: WTF. Sprint is shipping on May 18th?! Don't they know anything about customer service? Well, Sprint apparently knows nothing about rewarding customer loyalty. Time to call retentions and threaten to leave Sprint... again.

Also just to reiterate why Sprint is saying 1-3 business days. Think about it. FedEx (who they use) does not ship on Saturdays or Sundays. So if your phone for some reason does not get there on Friday that means you will have to wait at least until Monday...so 1 - 3 business days. This is just to stop people from doing exactly what they are doing now. Panicking and calling them all upset only to get the phone that Monday or Tuesday.

Bad customer service would be not telling you anything and it showing up the following Friday. So let me get this straight, they give you an update letting you know when to expect the phone and this is bad customer service?

Bad customer service is them saying well get it before the launch bad customer service is the saying after they announce it we will see it in 1 to 3 days. Now we're learning we could of went to the store on launch day and had better luck getting it on time.

They charged us letting us believe we would get it before the launch.

personally I'm just thankful we're getting this great phone in may...darn near a month prior to what we all thought just a short while ago...remember????? in addition, I still have a feeling that the phones will get shipped early and people will get them at least a couple days earlier than the official launch date...
 
The only issue that I really see is that they keep changing those status messages 3-4 times a day. It would have been more prudent on their part to choose a line and stick to it.

Throwing around cryptic messages about the availability of this phone isn't winning them any fans and is in fact turning many people off of their pre-order system.

No it is not. What they said was that they would TRY their best to get it to you on or before launch day. They didn't say they would, they said they would try. Now they send out another update telling their customers that it will ship because it is being released May 18th a Friday...so expect it within 1 - 3 business days of that date. This is just standard operating procedure for pretty much anything that will ship and may arrive during the weekend. Again they are simply making expectations realistic.
 
This is awesome! That'd be cool if they had incorporated that into the LTEvo.

I'm all about having 5.1 digital audio, but even just listening on headphones at work, I could distinguish which side the train was coming from.

Qualcomm, seeing as how HTC has been loyal in using their processor for so long.

It wasn't a "promise" or an "advertisement" or anything remotely close to a statement intentionally designed to induce purchase with them over others. Instead, you got this information from reports people were getting from their order statuses and you took a calculated risk relying with those reports.

Chill out.

For questions, visit sprint.com/preorder.My status for my pre order has now changed for the 3rd time..So given that since the 7th when i placed my order at 9am on the dot when it became available to me, this would now be the 3rd time they have changed their shipping status message? now is that strange to anyone else or just me? Just figured id ask lol...oh well atleast we now know the official launch date is the 18th so hopefully any day now our devices will ship and we can track them right to our front doors!!
