[Official] Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE Pre-release thread - Sprint official launch is Saturday, June 2

folks chill. its a phone. its not the end of the world. do not let one rep at sprint ruin your life because they told you about a delay. its JUST a phone.

i plan to get my phone on friday. i have complete confidence in that. sad to see many of you are not as confident.
 
Well Sprint said there is a delay and i called and they said don't count on getting your phone on Friday. So I don't know.

I with ya, I feel I will receive mines Friday!
 
Ok so lets look at the bigger picture now that we pretty much know there will be a delay:

1) has this sort of thing ever happened before?
2) How long did it take to resolve?

Part of me thinks this could be resolved in a matter of days while the other thinks we can see this phone delayed for a while. Maybe as long as 2 or 3 months.
 
Well that would be great if it was Friday. Maybe they can get it resolved by tomorrow and get them in by the end of the week. All I know is I am supposed to sell my 3D to someone this weekend. I was counting on this.

Apple played it this way, they waited for a release date, and decided to step in and screw crap up less than a week before release, i have no doubt about that. They are screwing customers over and that is all they are trying to do, that is what i personally am pissed about. Android has always had that feature, it's nothing new, and god knows how apple got the patent for it...

That's like patenting calling someone by pressing their number under your contact list. Utter bs

According too a Sprint Inside on XDA Forums the rumor is the launch has been delayed 10 days possible longer.

Just a rumor but its looking more and more like a June release is possible.
 
LOL! I went through that last year and the 3D got delayed. I couldn't stand being with the Lotus after a week and a half that I rebought an OG EVO and then had to trade it back in and pay the restocking fee of 35 bucks. But I do have my transformer prime with most of the same stuff on there so I'll be ok if it's not delayed too long.

My friends son cracked his screen and was buying all my stuff for 250 and I have the 3D plus so many accessories. I think I'll lower the price if he waits a week or two.

How do you think I feel? My everyday phone is still the original Lotus. I need the LTevo now!
 
I am still plan on selling my iphone this Friday to a friend. I found my wife's Hero. It just needs a battery. I would rather go to that then having this Iphone.

Just because a preorder has been removed does not mean there won't be shipments of orders already placed.
 
I preordered from Best Buy too and I live in Louisville where the sprint warehouse is. I called Sprint and they said noone had there shipments yet and I find that hard to believe if the phone was due out on Friday. But I will just wait and see but I am not counting on getting it on Friday now after two Sprint reps telling me it's not gonna happen. I would like them to get this resolved soon. Someone said it will be 10 days or more and we may not see phone till June I hope not.

my disgust %100 comes from the US patent system allowing this crap to happen... THIS is where government needs to step up and admit they have a faulty system

I would place it more in the ITC.. The U.S. courts would most likely not let this happen. If HTC did lose in court, they pay some $$$ and/or royalties and that's the end of it. But use some global entity trying to justify it's existence...

As of 8:30pm this eve, my local Best Buy did not have their shipments in when I placed my pre-order. At that time, neither the rep nor I had any idea of the delay. He said that the hyped phones usually arrive via UPS the day prior to official release and that they'll occasionally sell to pre-order customers the night before official release. Looks like we're all dead in the water until further notice. This could be a really bad one for HTC as the Galaxy S3 release date is expected in June. Could have a lot of peeps jumping ship if the EVO release rolls into June. Best Buy website now says: "Coming Soon" on ship and in store pick up.

Update: Just read that HTC stock shares are down 7% in Asian and Euro stock markets upon release of this news.
 
they are all getting the same info from the same sources. the above Reuters blog reads almost word for word as the yahoo ad.

me personally i believe there will be a delay. this customs thing has been going on for at least a day or so. im still confident this will be wrapped up by this week. every blog wants to report on this just so they can get the exposure and clicks to their site.

lets let the dust settle overnight and re group tomorrow...
 
Yep, I'm hopeful this is settled quickly as well. I think if there is a need to vent it's with your local representative. A senator would be my guess and explan we are the 99%ers and were tired of taking brunt of corporate greed. "Hell No We Won't Go! Let Our Freaking LTEVO's Go!" :D I will be putting a call in tomorrow at Washington State congressman and senators office. :p
