Hi my SGII got slightly wet whilst it was in my dressing gown pocket whilst washing dishes, it lost all touch screen ability so i dried it with my hairdryer, now it works fine except the lock screen wont lock when i press the power off button, it keeps coming back on every 10 to 12 seconds and this will no doubt run my battery down very quickly.....please help!!! cant afford a new fone and stupidly didnt take insurance out with my contract....

I....think you're in the wrong place...

But, there could still be moisture inside the phone. The iphone guys that drop their phones in water usually put their phones in a ziploc bag with rice for 2-10 days to dry it completely out. So maybe you could try that. I would turn the phone off and let it sit in there for at least 24 hours.

Hello and welcome to the forums... thanks for joining :)

Sorry to hear that you have damaged your phone... never good!

Nice to hear that you got it working, but it does sound like part of it was damaged by the moisture. As suggested, the best advice is to put your phone in a ziplock bag with (dry, uncooked) rice for at least 24 hrs. I had not heard of anyone using a hairdryer before.

You may need to get part/parts replaced... I could not tell you, as I am not an expert at these sorts of things... there are many mobile repair shops which should be able to help... if you are in the US, then I know that the author of this post - http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga.../532628-how-fix-samsung-galaxy-s2-screen.html - is very good.

Hope you manage to get your issue sorted!
