help with all there is to know about rooting phones

Ok let me start by saying I'm new to all this so gentle lol

If someone could find the time to explain the rooting process the unroot process and everything in between id really appreciate it ...

Reason I wanna learn well first I luv Android phones and I luv how you can customize them..but even more than that is what comes next...

I recently bought a HTC desire a8181 used and its a great phone and it came rooted I of course know nothing about this so when I.got the phone I cleared everything including titanium backup ... I'm stuck with this rom kernel 2.6.32.15 piranha flo himself @ macbook#16 software Aurax tsense 7.9 froyo de791 by neophyte browser version web kit 3.1....(this rom don't let me send picture messages always says generic network failure)

Now I wanna put a bigger SD card in but I can't when I put the new 8gig card the phone gets stuck on HTC screen won't power on all the way.... so I put in reg SD card powers all the way on so I figured the rom is on the SD so I copied the reg SD to the new SD but still didn't work....so if anyone can help please do ....

I wanna know about rooting so I could find the stock rom and have it like a normal person lol and so I could change them and really enjoy my phone please help if you find the time

well, i assume that you bought that phone secondhand, yeah? if you wanna know the specifics on the rooting process on your phone (along with other firmware and rom flashes and etc to go with that root) read loooots of threads here or back at the xda guys to avoid insults here, there are others here who are sooo intimidating -.- but don't worry, we're still here to help you out!
