... Like I said... Actually I didn't even notice I was missing the stripes  Shows how tired I am... and was to lazy to put 50 stars on it...

やっぱりゅえいがなかったんだからいただいたってことで

So I got a C2D off ebay yesterday... should be here on the 29... hopefully it works on my laptop... it's the right socket but there might be bios compatibility issues or something... hopefully not though...

C2d works on lga 775... (desktop I presume)
What model did you get ?

Well, ssd are much faster..think like running os from ram ..
Ssd are just meant for os and games and heavy applications .
So an 60-80 gb should suffice ...

The processor/os race has now shifted to mobile platforms so I may not need an upgrade from my current laptop/desktop anytime soon. ...
Might get a ram upgrade for my desktop...

Ok... So I think I understand Vt-x... It just allows me to use the processor more securely and better with a virtual box?

Also say the spec sheet of my laptop says it only supports a max of 4gb of ram... Is that an actual hardware limitation?

Hmm.probably bios limitation...can you use 64 bit os ?
Ddr2 ram costs a bomb .... you know
4 gb ddr2 single stick is quite expensive(compared to ddr3).maybe you can use more ram with bios update...

So I could probably use more than 4gb of ram if I upgrade the bios? Hmmm... But the risks involved with that could leave my Mobo bricked right? And yea I know ddr2 ram is quite expensive... although I got 4gb of ddr2 (2x 2gb sticks) used for cheap...

The asus which I was going to buy had a hw chipset limit of 8 gb...(which was older)
My hp has a newer chipset which even supports the newer 3rd gen core proc. And 16 gb ram....
