Is this true??? ICS Upgrade

I was on the Sprint forums, and they were talking about the fact that Sprint *may be* holding back the ICS upgrade so that we *suckers* will buy the newer phones with the OS preloaded.

I haven't rooted my Epic 4G Touch (Galaxy S II) and I currently pay $30/mo for hotspot. I am TRYING to do the right thing here Sprint, but if you are only interested in milking more MONEY from loyal customers...I may HAVE to root it. Once again....doing the "right thing" doesn't work out for loyal customers.

Time to comb the "ALL THINGS ROOT" folder to get my swerve on...and CANCEL the $30 monthly fee I am paying Sprint. If they want to herd us "sheeple" and bilk us for MORE money (I pay $238 montly for family plan) ....then I guess it's time to take matters into my own hands.

Sprint maybe doing this. i read that Apple won some type of court dession and the new Evo phones are sitting in customs. the new Evo is running ice cream sandwhich. .Apple is saying that the some of the touch screen features are pattented by Apple.also i read that Apple is going to go after Samsung also.maybe there are too many simularities in the ice cream sandwhich operating system that are too close to how an Iphone works.

The EVO LTE got delayed a few days but its been out of customs for about a week

It's got nothing to do with ics it was a feature HTC put in.

Apple sues everyone for everything because they' sitting on a huge pile of cash. It's been going on for the past year

FYI, I'm using FoxFi (via PDANet) on my UNrooted Epic 4G Touch. WiFi hotspot works like a charm.

Thanks....got it.

*edit....I tried FoxFi last night. My ipad2 could NOT connect to it (no matter what I tried) and when my Galaxy Tab 8.9 DID connect...it was slowwwwwwwwwww.

Oh well...guess I will keep paying Sprint that $29.99 for something that SHOULD be free. (I know I can tether with EasyTether.)

I mentioned this in another ICS thread but it makes sense that Sprint would do that to boost sales of the new phones. Wouldn't make a lot of sense for them to release ICS right before releasing a new phone with ICS as the new generation phones are not that huge of a leap over last years.

Despite the benchmark scores, the new phones are hardly if any faster real world (once the hi def screens suck up all the speed) than the old ones, and with them still containing dual core processors, the only thing the new phones have going for them is ICS, camera and screen size/resolution.

Releasing ICS right now could really dent sales. Don't expect it until well after the SGS3 launch IMO.

Seems to me that any E4GT owner that buys a new Sprint phone just to get ICS really is a "sucker". This sounds like a class-1 RUMOR ... can't imagine that Sprint would really think they'd sell more phones by withholding ICS on E4GT.

I understand that everyone is excited to get ICS on their Galaxy S2, but Samsung and Sprint just have to go through their QD process (which is a good thing). I could be wrong, but I think almost no US phones have gotten an ICS upgrade yet ... so it's not just Spint and Samsung.
