Root LG DoublePlay Root

Godard

Lurker
Took a day or two but I've ran a few test and found a solution to the DoublePlay root controversy.

Things you'll need:
SuperOneClick 2.3.3
LG DoublePlay driver

Okay so it's fairly simple,

Step One: Run SuperOneClick(As administrator)

Step Two: Install DoublePlay Driver

Step Three: Enable USB Debugging(On Phone)

Step Four: Click root (On SuperOneClick)

Step Five: Sit Back And Watch:cool:

Im thinking about getting a doubleplay but wanted to see how the development was. I guess there's not much. But thanks for this. Any issues or problems so far?

Has anybody who is rooted used wireless tether? I def need that to work.
you don't actually have to have root to wirelessly tether. There's an app in the android market that works with this phone. Check for FoxFi in the android market.

You know what small screen app would make this phone so much easier to use? A numeric keypad.

I saw the foxfi app, it got lots of reviews saying it didnt work but its something to try if i do get the doubleplay. That galaxy note is so tempting...

I ran FoxFi on my EvoLTE prior to rooting it, worked awesome!! ;)

The Note is humongous!! Seriously, go to a store and hold one, then hold it up to your ear like you're making a call. It could double as a brim for your hat as well. LOL :p

If you keep your phone in your pocket it may give you some problems, if not, it's really nice to actually do stuff on. Reading emails on it is a treat because of the big screen. :)

Ok I'm having issues with rooting the double play. Are there any other steps that aren't listed that need to be taken? Any time I hit Root the SOC program says starting daemon and freezes.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I've followed every step by step that I've searched and everything says the exact same thing. I've let SuperOneClick sit on (Not Responding) for 45 mins every which way I've tried. I'd rather not have to use the cmd prompt to do this but that's what it's starting to look like I'll have to do.

Ok now I have an issue with rebooting into recovery mode using CWM. I've read that you need to press and hold the Vol - and Power, Vol + and Power, and Vol - with F, A, and Power but all that did was a factory reset. I want to install a custom rom.
