media player service

hi all! i've been using xperia x8 for about 6months now. i'm pretty satisfied with it, except from the battery length. i would have to charge it on daily basis if i don't manually stop some of the apps. one of them is media player service. the player doesn't allow the option to stop playback, only to pause it and meanwhile it stays open in the running service section. it has to be done even after alarm clock stops.
so, is there an easier way to stop it, without going to settings every time?

tnx in advance!

Killing apps is actually shortening your battery in the long run. Android will just restart them, using CPU cycles and thus battery. As you can see in the running services section, many of the apps there are actually using 0% CPU, thus in other words, no battery.

Also, for smartphones like Xperia X8, daily charging is normal. Most smartphones need to be charged twice a day. Don't rely on tests and battery quotes too much. They're almost never true.

Try using less active processes, and widgets to save battery. But never manually kill processes regularly.

you don't say? wow, didn't know that. i actually use very little apps, in processes are usually only 4, 3 from the phone and 1 is antivirus. now and then when i use a game or internet other appear. so far i would kill them, never thinking of what you said. i've been able to keep it running up to 4 days without charging.
my phone and i thank you :D
