Help Issues with Mobile Data Connection

I am having issues with my mobile data connection all of a sudden. As in, I have no mobile data connection.

I have been running BrokenOut3.0 since release day with no issues. I haven't tweaked anything in JuiceDefender, Tasker, or SetCPU - three of the apps that I thought might be cause of my problem, I have also killed them & still no 4G. Tried 3g, to no avail, as well. I have tried rebooting. I have tried taking the battery out for a few minutes. I have tried talking nicely to it. No luck.

My wifi connection is totally cool, no issues there.

Is there some app that is already known to interfere with mobile data connections? Has anyone else experienced this with their LGSpectrum?

I have not found any other posts about issues with mobile data in the LG Spectrum forum, so I apologize if there is something out there that I overlooked. Any help would be appreciated!

Also, I don't know what this means, but it appears that I shouldn't be having a problem with mobile data because I see numbers here that aren't "0":

E/Database(29601): Error inserting f003=32 f002=1339046243*** f004=0
E/Database(29601): Error inserting f003=32 f002=1339046243*** f004=0

This is the logcat readout that pops up when I toggle 4G on.

Do you have the 'mobile data fix' enabled in JD? I found I needed to use it to get my data to reconnect after the app killed it.

i would try the reflash for sure.

BTW. those numbers are your signal strength. Anything under -90 is decent. Over -100 is kinda bad and could cause hang ups and disconnects, -80's isn't too bad though and you should be getting a good stable connection. The lower the number is the better your connection. Being that you phone is getting a data connection means your are 100 percent working. Something is blocking it though. (obviously) If you aren't able to troubleshoot to figure out what it is then A data wipe and reflashing of the rom should fix it.

also if you have juice defender installed on your phone you might want to go ahead and uninstall it completely and see if that fixes your data. I had this issue once a couple months back and my data only started working again after I uninstalled it. I really hate that stupid app. Pretty pointless as well since it does nothing you cant do manually.

I'd totally agree. I tried using JD to see how well it actually worked, and after leaving it on overnight, I actually lost more battery with it enabled compared to not running it.

That's cuz you're doing it all wrong. lol

I run JD and lose 0-1% overnight and it reports I get 1.56x battery life, which I can attest... 10 hours on med-heavy LTE use.

Here's how I have it set up:

The keys to battery life are this:
  1. Use and connect to wifi whenever at home. It takes more power to try to find cell towers than it does to find your router.
  2. Use JD to kill data when the screen is off, EXCEPT wifi.. keep that persistent to avoid wasting power on turning wifi on and off.
  3. Use Airplane Mode at night. I do from 11PM - 6AM and like I said, lose maybe 1%.

Well, I'm going to try uninstalling JD and see what happens! Maybe I'll leave it uninstalled for a few days and see if I notice a battery difference. Thanks for the tips, y'all.

Uninstalled JD, rebooted, no luck.

Tried turning on airplane mode, toggling it off, then enabling mobile data, no luck.

This is not a locale problem, as I've tried in several locations.

Guess it'll be a clean install tomorrow -_-

without jd enabled in airplane mode is loose maybe 1 to 2 percent over a 7 hour period. when I had jd I was using default settings and was loosing 5 percent at least. I get good battery life but obv streaming radio kills the battery fast as hell which I do alot of. I really don't have any complaints about battery life like others do.

Must have been a setting, because that app puts my phone into a deep sleep when I'm not using it.

Reflashed 3.0 and 4G WORKING right away. Doing a selective batch restore with Titanium, just market apps and their data. Gonna reboot after that and see if it still connects.

If you start getting reboots after restoring, just reflash again with no wipe.

Every thing seems fine so far, 4G is stable/dependable in multiple locations, and it's even snappier than before I flashed. No reboots yet, but I'll apply this lil method if I encounter em.

Protip: When all else fails, backup, wipe, & reflash.

Just thought about this, but when you originally flashed 3.0 did you verify that the cmda & lte network option was selected?

I flashed 3.0 about an hour after MT released it, and had no 4G issues whatsoever until just a few days ago. So yeh. One thing I did start doing a day or two before I noticed the 4G problem was having JD switch to airplane mode at night, but as I previously posted in the Broken Out thread, uninstalling JD and cycling airplane mode didn't help.

Oddly enough, I encountered LTE connectivity issues last night... when I REALLY needed it too. But all I had to do was turn off JD and the issue resolved itself. I'll probably do a cache and dalvik wipe and wipe the JD data to see if it resolves itself, but I thought it was odd that I suddenly encountered this problem.

I lold hard. DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD OR YOU TOO WILL EXPERIENCE LTE PROBLEMS.

Seriously though, glad it was a simple fix for you!

Dang it. It's happened again. I don't know wtf is causing it. I don't leave the house much, and therefore don't use LTE very often. Left the house today and no data connection again. Uninstalled JD with no change. It has to be some app I have b/c two days ago it was fine. I guess I'll do another wipe/install. *sigh*

Did you have the 'data fix' enabled in JD? It helps force connect to LTE after being on wifi. I had to enable it for the same issue you experienced.

Wiped/reflashed and I'm going to ONLY connect via LTE for a few days and NOT install JD at all and just see what happens.

Okay. No problems at all since the most recent reflash. I'm sending this message via my LTE connection. I notice a sizeable difference in battery life w/o JD, so I am going to install it and see if I have any problems.
