it has it. a samsung rep confirmed at a launch party.
What about the tweet that people have been talking about which pretty much stated that there was not going to be a Wolfson chip in the US release? Do you think he was wrong.
No he's right idiot from Samsung was wrong.
unfortunately, these phones.
International Galaxy S (GT-I9000), 8GB and 16GB
T-Mobile Vibrant
AT&T Captivate
Verizon Fascinate
They have voodoo sound and wolfson audio chips. Voodoo requires your phone to be rooted, but the developer is a very talented audio software hacker and these phones sound amazing with his improvements. I am waiting to see if he will tackle the gs3 us variants even without the wolfson dac. It is possible. BTW the sound on the gs3 is good, the amp has high gain so its loud and clear, but has sibilance problems.
These phones are good, but getting slightly dated compared to fancy ones from this year. If I were you I'd wait to see what new phone Fran
It uses the Qualcomm WDC9310 DAC:
Cracking Open Samsung Galaxy S III: Qualcomm WCD9310 (WCD9310 NBA78900 A204002 03) | 56 of 59
It's probably better than the SII's Yamaha ... I can't wait to get mine to test it out. Hopefully someone with some more information on this can post here. Searching has found me nothing substantial to add.
This could possibly be what the SIII is getting:
Qualcomm
What? Sorry I'm confused. I already posted exactly what was inside the US version. There's even pictures of the Qualcomm WDC9310 DAC. That new Qualcomm combo chip is definitely not it. Did you mean a possible next phone?
Well, I was hoping that the link I posted was of a related enough chip that we could perhaps infer some spec and performance info from it, I certainly didn't mean to dispute anything you've posted. If anyone has any additional info about the WDC9310, I'd really appreciate it.
No problem...sorry I was just confused. But you're right..it's interestingly hard to find more details about the WCD9310 chip that we DO have. I'd like more info about it as well - but perhaps Qualcomm designed it to work specifically with their snapdragon S4? Not sure
